أسفرت حادثة تسرّب أبخرة حامض الكبريتيك داخل أحد المصانع في محافظة العقبة جنوب الأردن، عن إصابة 43 شخصاً، على ما ذكر محافظ العقبة، أيمن العوايشة.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام محلية عنه قوله إن 6 من المصابين تراوح حالتهم الصحية بين المتوسطة والجيدة، وسيتم إدخالهم للمراقبة الطبية لمدة 24 ساعة، وفقاً للبروتوكول العلاجي المعتمد.
وأشار إلى أن باقي الإصابات بحالة جيدة، وتم التعامل معها ميدانياً أو داخل المستشفيات.
وكانت مديرية الأمن العام قد قالت في وقت سابق إنّه تم التعامل مع حادث تسرّب أبخرة حامض الكبريتيك داخل أحد المصانع في مدينة العقبة.
وذكرت في بيان أن الطواقم المختصة في مديرية دفاع مدني العقبة، وبإسناد من مجموعة إسناد العقبة تلقت بلاغاً يفيد بوقوع تسرب أبخرة حامض الكبريتيك من داخل أحد المصانع الواقعة في محافظة العقبة.
وأشارت إلى أن ذلك التسرب أدى إلى حدوث سحابة بمساحة (400) متر مربع، حيث أُسعف ووصل إلى المستشفيات 33 إصابة بضيق تنفس، منها اثنتان أدخلتا للعناية المركزة. قبل أن ترتفع الإصابات إلى 43.
وأضاف بيان مديرية الأمن العام أن الفريق الفني التابع للشركة استجاب للحادث، وعمل على معالجة التسرب، وعند وصول فريق المواد الخطرة التابع للدفاع المدني للموقع، قام بكافة الإجراءات العملياتية اللازمة وفق البروتوكولات، فيما عملت فرق الإسعاف المتخصصة على تقديم الإسعافات الأولية اللازمة للمصابين، ونقلهم إلى أقرب المستشفيات.
وأكد أن الجهات المختصة في مديرية الأمن العام، وبالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية الأخرى، باشرت التحقيق للوقوف على الأسباب التي أدت للتسرب، بينما قام فريق المواد الخطرة بقياس نسبة الغازات في الجو وتبيَّن أنها ضمن المعدل الطبيعي.
The incident of sulfuric acid vapor leakage inside a factory in Aqaba Governorate, southern Jordan, resulted in the injury of 43 people, as reported by Aqaba Governor Ayman Al-Awaisheh.
Local media quoted him saying that 6 of the injured had health conditions ranging from moderate to good, and they will be placed under medical observation for 24 hours, according to the approved treatment protocol.
He indicated that the remaining injuries were in good condition and were treated either on-site or in hospitals.
The Public Security Directorate had previously stated that it dealt with the incident of sulfuric acid vapor leakage inside a factory in the city of Aqaba.
It mentioned in a statement that specialized teams from the Aqaba Civil Defense Directorate, supported by a group from Aqaba, received a report about the leakage of sulfuric acid vapor from inside one of the factories located in Aqaba Governorate.
It pointed out that the leakage led to the formation of a cloud covering an area of (400) square meters, where 33 cases of respiratory distress were treated and transported to hospitals, two of which were admitted to intensive care, before the number of injuries rose to 43.
The statement from the Public Security Directorate added that the technical team from the company responded to the incident and worked on addressing the leakage, and upon the arrival of the hazardous materials team from the Civil Defense at the site, they carried out all necessary operational procedures according to the protocols, while specialized ambulance teams provided the necessary first aid to the injured and transported them to the nearest hospitals.
It confirmed that the competent authorities in the Public Security Directorate, in cooperation with other relevant entities, began an investigation to determine the causes that led to the leakage, while the hazardous materials team measured the gas levels in the air and found them to be within the normal range.
