أعلنت منصة المراسلة الفورية واتساب، المملوكة لشركة ميتا، عن اختبار ميزة جديدة ستتيح لمستخدمي نظام آندرويد اختيار جودة التنزيل التلقائي للصور ومقاطع الفيديو في المحادثات، وذلك من خلال نظام آندرويد في إصدار رقم 2.25.18.11.
وبحسب موقع WABetaInfo، تتضمن الميزة خيارين لجودة الصور والفيديوهات التي يتم تنزيلها تلقائياً، هما الجودة العادية (Standard Quality) وجودة عالية الدقة (HD Quality).
وعند اختيار الجودة العادية يتم ضغط الوسائط لتقليل حجمها، ما يجعل التنزيل أسرع وأكثر كفاءة من حيث استخدام البيانات والتخزين، بحسب موقع «WABetaInfo» المتخصص في تحديثات تطبيق واتساب.
أما جودة عالية الدقة، فتحافظ على مزيد من التفاصيل البصرية والدقة، لكنها تستهلك المزيد من البيانات ومساحة التخزين. ويمكن الوصول إلى خياري جودة تنزيل الوسائط من قسم «التخزين والبيانات» (Storage and Data) في إعدادات التطبيق. ويُعدّ هذا التحكّم مفيداً بشكل خاص في المحادثات الجماعية، حيث يُشارك عدد كبير من الصور ومقاطع الفيديو بانتظام، مما يجعل المستخدمين يتلقون صوراً ومقاطع فيديو عالية الجودة لا يرغبون بالضرورة في فتحها ما قد يستهلك البيانات دون فائدة.
وتتوفر ميزة اختيار جودة الصور ومقاطع الفيديو التي يتم تنزيلها تلقائياً حالياً في نسخة تجريبية من تطبيق واتساب لنظام آندرويد، ومن المتوقع طرحها للمستخدمين العاديين خلال الأسابيع القادمة.
The instant messaging platform WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has announced the testing of a new feature that will allow Android users to choose the automatic download quality of images and videos in conversations, through the Android system in version 2.25.18.11.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature includes two options for the quality of images and videos that are downloaded automatically: standard quality and high definition (HD) quality.
When selecting standard quality, the media is compressed to reduce its size, making the download faster and more efficient in terms of data and storage usage, according to the website "WABetaInfo," which specializes in WhatsApp updates.
On the other hand, high definition quality preserves more visual details and clarity, but it consumes more data and storage space. The options for media download quality can be accessed from the "Storage and Data" section in the app's settings. This control is particularly useful in group chats, where a large number of images and videos are regularly shared, causing users to receive high-quality images and videos that they may not necessarily want to open, which could waste data unnecessarily.
The option to choose the quality of images and videos that are downloaded automatically is currently available in a beta version of the WhatsApp app for Android, and it is expected to be rolled out to regular users in the coming weeks.
