بعد 14 شهراً من العمل المستمر بعقد 10 ورش عمل كبرى مع الأندية، و40 اجتماعاً داخلياً لفريق العمل، وأكثر من 50 اجتماعاً فردياً، كشف فريق مشروع توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية عن التقرير النهائي للمشروع الذي وثّق الفترة الزمنية الممتدة من 1902 وحتى 2025 بواقع 123 عاماً شملت العهود الملكية منذ عهد الملك عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن آل سعود (رحمه الله) وحتى عهدنا الحاضر، إذ ارتكز المشروع على 8 محاور رئيسية هي؛ (دعم القيادة الرشيدة، مراحل تطور كرة القدم السعودية، الجهات المنظمة، المنتخبات الوطنية، الأندية والمسابقات، التأثير الدولي، تأثير الجانب الاجتماعي والاقتصادي، كرة القدم النسائية). وتم تحديد 4 آليات لعمل المشروع هي؛ (جمع البيانات من المصادر، المراجعة والتدقيق، تحليل البيانات وربطها، المقارنات المرجعية)، كما حدد المشروع 4 مبادئ أساسية في التعامل مع مسابقات الأندية هي؛ (احترام المكتسبات، الدقة، المقارنات الدولية، المرونة)، وتم تحديد 4 جهات منظمة للمسابقات عبر تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية هي؛ («فترة الرواد»: وهي الجهات أو الشخصيات التي قامت بالتنظيم قبل انضمام المملكة العربية السعودية للاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، و«الجهة المختصة المحلية»: وهي الجهة التي صدر قرار أو نظام يعطيها الصلاحية بتنظيم شؤون كرة القدم داخلياً وكانت تعتبر الممثل الرسمي لكرة القدم، و«الجهة المختصة الخارجية»: وهي الجهة التي وافقت أو انضمت لها الجهة المختصة المحلية بقرار أو نظام أو اتفاقية وبذلك منحت الجهة الخارجية الصلاحية بتنظيم شؤون كرة القدم في نطاق جغرافي محدد، إضافة «الجهة غير المختصة - محلياً أو خارجياً»: وهي الجهة أو الشخصية التي قامت بالتنظيم داخلياً أو خارجياً بمشاركة غير إلزامية من أندية أو منتخبات في الفترة ما بعد انضمام المملكة للاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم وبموافقة رسمية من الجهة المختصة المحلية).
وبذلك يكون نادي الوحدة أول من تُوج بلقب الدوري في 1957، فيما حقق الهلال 21 لقباً في صدارة الأندية السعودية، وجاء ثانياً الاتحاد بـ14 لقباً، ثم النصر بـ10 ألقاب، فالأهلي بـ9 ألقاب.

After 14 months of continuous work, including 10 major workshops with clubs, 40 internal meetings for the project team, and more than 50 individual meetings, the Saudi Football History Documentation Project team revealed the final report of the project, which documented the period from 1902 to 2025, covering 123 years that included the royal eras from the time of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may God have mercy on him) to the present day. The project focused on 8 main axes: (supporting wise leadership, stages of the development of Saudi football, organizing bodies, national teams, clubs and competitions, international impact, social and economic impact, women's football). Four mechanisms for the project were identified: (data collection from sources, review and auditing, data analysis and linking, benchmarking). The project also established 4 fundamental principles for dealing with club competitions: (respect for achievements, accuracy, international comparisons, flexibility). Four organizing bodies for competitions throughout the history of Saudi football were identified: ("Pioneers' Period": the entities or individuals that organized before Saudi Arabia joined FIFA, "Local Competent Authority": the entity that was granted the authority to organize football affairs internally and was considered the official representative of football, "External Competent Authority": the entity that the local competent authority agreed to or joined through a decision, regulation, or agreement, thus granting the external entity the authority to organize football affairs within a specific geographical scope, and "Non-Competent Authority - Locally or Externally": the entity or individual that organized internally or externally with non-mandatory participation from clubs or teams after the Kingdom joined FIFA and with official approval from the local competent authority).
Thus, Al-Wehda Club became the first to be crowned with the league title in 1957, while Al-Hilal achieved 21 titles at the top of Saudi clubs, followed by Al-Ittihad with 14 titles, then Al-Nasr with 10 titles, and finally Al-Ahli with 9 titles.
