هنأ الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم «فيفا FIFA»، الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم بمناسبة استكمال مشروع توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية، مشيدا بالمشروع الكبير الذي يمثل احتفاء بتاريخ كرة القدم في المملكة.
وأفرد الاتحاد الدولي تقريرا موسعا عبر موقعه الرسمي عن مشروع توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية، عادا إياه من مشاريع التعاون التاريخية بين الاتحاد السعودي ومتحف «فيفا FIFA» الذي قدم الدعم لهذا المشروع، إذ عمل المتحف بصفة استشارية كونه جزءا من لجنة خبراء دوليين لتبادل المعلومات التاريخية التي يحتفظ بها أرشيف «فيفا»، وتقديم معايير تاريخية حول كيفية تعامل الاتحادات الأعضاء الأخرى في الاتحاد الدولي مع مشاريع مماثلة.
واستعرض التقرير أبرز الجهود التي تمت خلال مشروع توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية، وتم الاطلاع على أكثر من (500,000) مقال صحفي، ومراجعة أكثر من (800) وثيقة ومقابلة، وشملت أكثر من (90) كتابا ومرجعا آخر حددت (1,141) مباراة للمنتخب السعودي، وأكثر من (3,900) مسابقة للأندية، ومشاركة مسؤولي المباريات السعوديين في أكثر من (3,300) مباراة دولية.
من جانبه، هنأ الأمين العام للاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم ماتياس غرافستروم، الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم على استكمال هذا المشروع التاريخي المهم، وعلى وضع منهجية شفافة وعلمية تحت مسؤولية الجمعية العمومية للاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم.
ووصف أمين اتحاد «FIFA» المشروع بالتاريخي، لأنه وضع تعريفات من شأنها أن تسلط الضوء على إرث كرة القدم في المملكة، وستضمن الحفاظ على تراث كرة القدم السعودية للأجيال القادمة، إذ تمتد لأكثر من (120) عاما من تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية، وأكثر من ألف مباراة للمنتخب السعودي، وسجل حافل من مسابقات وبطولات الأندية.

The International Football Federation "FIFA" congratulated the Saudi Football Federation on the completion of the project to document the history of Saudi football, praising the significant project that celebrates the history of football in the Kingdom.
The international federation dedicated an extensive report on its official website about the project to document the history of Saudi football, considering it one of the historical cooperation projects between the Saudi federation and the "FIFA" Museum, which provided support for this project. The museum acted in an advisory capacity as part of a committee of international experts to exchange historical information held by the "FIFA" archive and to provide historical standards on how other member federations of the international federation handle similar projects.
The report highlighted the main efforts made during the project to document the history of Saudi football, reviewing over (500,000) press articles, examining more than (800) documents and interviews, and including over (90) books and other references that identified (1,141) matches for the Saudi national team, more than (3,900) club competitions, and the participation of Saudi match officials in over (3,300) international matches.
For his part, the Secretary General of FIFA, Matthias Grafström, congratulated the Saudi Football Federation on completing this important historical project and on establishing a transparent and scientific methodology under the responsibility of the General Assembly of the Saudi Football Federation.
The FIFA Secretary described the project as historic because it established definitions that would highlight the legacy of football in the Kingdom and ensure the preservation of Saudi football heritage for future generations, as it spans over (120) years of Saudi football history, more than a thousand matches for the Saudi national team, and a rich record of club competitions and championships.
