أكد مدير عام مكتب الشباب والرياضة بمحافظة سقطرى علي محمد صعباب أن الدعم الذي تقدمه المملكة العربية السعودية عبر البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن يمثل الركيزة الأولى والأساس المتين لنهضة قطاع الشباب والرياضة في الأرخبيل، مشيراً إلى أن هذا التدخل السخي منح الشباب آفاقاً أرحب لصقل مواهبهم واستثمار طاقاتهم في منافسات رياضية بنّاءة.
تحصين الشباب واستثمار الطاقات
وأوضح صعباب في تصريح خاص إلى «عكاظ» أن ثمار هذا الدعم السعودي السخي تجلت في احتواء طاقات الشباب وتوجيه إبداعاتهم نحو مسارات إيجابية، مؤكداً أن المبادرات الرياضية ساهمت بشكل مباشر في تقليص وقت الفراغ لدى النشء، وحمايتهم من الانزلاق نحو السلوكيات الخاطئة أو الأعمال السيئة، وباتت الرياضة اليوم «حائط صد» منيعاً يحصن الشباب يومياً من المخاطر الاجتماعية والظواهر السلبية.
حراك رياضي رمضاني
ووصف مدير عام الشباب والرياضة الحراك الرياضي الحالي بـ«الثمرة الرمضانية» المباركة، موضحاً أن البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن أطلق بطولات في الكرة الطائرة ولعبة الشطرنج بمشاركة واسعة من أندية المحافظة.
واعتبر صعباب هذه الخطوة «مبادرة جبارة» حطت رحالها لترسم البهجة في 12 نادياً رياضياً بأرخبيل سقطرى، كاشفاً عن ترتيبات تجري لإطلاق نشاط كروي موسع في «كرة القدم» عقب شهر رمضان المبارك.
أرقام من الميدان
ولفت صعباب إلى أن البطولات الرمضانية التي أطلقها البرنامج السعودي سجلت مشاركة واسعة النطاق شملت 12 نادياً رسمياً من مختلف مناطق الأرخبيل، تمثلها كوكبة من المواهب تضم 176 لاعباً، يؤازرهم طاقم فني وإداري مكون من 36 كادراً.
وأوضح أن التنافس الرياضي يمتد على مدار 10 أيام متواصلة، وتتوزع الفعاليات بين ملاعب كرة الطائرة وطاولات الشطرنج التي تجمع 12 لاعباً من نخبة محترفي اللعبة في الأندية الرسمية، ما يجسد شمولية الدعم السعودي لكافة الأنشطة الذهنية والبدنية في آن واحد.
بنية تحتية نموذجية
وأشار صعباب إلى أن البطولات الجارية تُقام على ملعب «مدرسة سيرهن النموذجية»، وهي إحدى المنشآت التي شيدها البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن ضمن مشاريع البنية التحتية، ما يعكس الرؤية السعودية الثاقبة في ربط المشاريع التنموية بالأنشطة المجتمعية، والاستفادة من المرافق المؤهلة لممارسة الرياضة بمستويات عالية.
وأعرب مدير عام مكتب الشباب والرياضة في ختام تصريحه عن بالغ شكره وتقديره للمملكة العربية السعودية، قيادةً وحكومةً وشعباً، نظير مواقفها الأخوية الراسخة ودعمها اللامحدود الذي لم يتوقف عند قطاع دون آخر، مؤكداً أن بصمات البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن باتت محفورة في وجدان أبناء الأرخبيل.
وثمَّن مدير مكتب الشباب والرياضة جهود السلطة المحلية بالمحافظة وكل من ساهم في تعزيز وتطوير قطاع الشباب في «جوهرة المحيط».
The Director General of the Youth and Sports Office in Socotra Governorate, Ali Mohammed Sabab, confirmed that the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen represents the primary pillar and solid foundation for the renaissance of the youth and sports sector in the archipelago, noting that this generous intervention has granted youth broader horizons to hone their talents and invest their energies in constructive sports competitions.
Empowering Youth and Investing Energies
Sabab explained in a special statement to "Okaz" that the fruits of this generous Saudi support have manifested in harnessing the energies of youth and directing their creativity towards positive pathways, emphasizing that sports initiatives have directly contributed to reducing the idle time among the youth, protecting them from slipping into negative behaviors or bad deeds. Today, sports have become a strong "bulwark" that daily shields youth from social dangers and negative phenomena.
Ramadan Sports Movement
Sabab described the current sports movement as the "blessed Ramadan fruit," explaining that the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen has launched tournaments in volleyball and chess with wide participation from clubs in the governorate.
He considered this step a "great initiative" that has settled to bring joy to 12 sports clubs in the Socotra archipelago, revealing that arrangements are underway to launch an expanded football activity following the blessed month of Ramadan.
Numbers from the Field
Sabab pointed out that the Ramadan tournaments launched by the Saudi program recorded extensive participation involving 12 official clubs from various regions of the archipelago, represented by a constellation of talents comprising 176 players, supported by a technical and administrative team consisting of 36 members.
He explained that the sports competition extends over 10 consecutive days, with events distributed between volleyball courts and chess tables gathering 12 players from the elite professionals of the game in the official clubs, reflecting the comprehensive Saudi support for all mental and physical activities simultaneously.
Model Infrastructure
Sabab indicated that the ongoing tournaments are held at the "Siren Model School" field, which is one of the facilities built by the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen as part of infrastructure projects, reflecting the insightful Saudi vision in linking development projects with community activities and benefiting from qualified facilities for practicing sports at high levels.
At the end of his statement, the Director General of the Youth and Sports Office expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership, government, and people, for their steadfast brotherly positions and unlimited support that has not stopped at one sector or another, affirming that the fingerprints of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen have become engraved in the hearts of the archipelago's people.
He praised the efforts of the local authority in the governorate and everyone who contributed to enhancing and developing the youth sector in the "Jewel of the Ocean."
