إيكيتيكي يرحّب بالمنافسة مع إيزاك في ليفربول

Hugo Ekitike, the Liverpool forward, welcomed Alexander Isak's joining the team, expressing his excitement for the challenge and competition for a spot in the starting lineup with the Swedish striker.

Ekitike is the third most expensive signing for Liverpool this summer after the acquisition of Isak from Newcastle United for around £125 million ($168.93 million), and midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for £100 million plus performance-related bonuses.

Ekitike has scored three goals in four matches with Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions.

Ekitike told reporters yesterday (Sunday): "When you play for the best teams, you inevitably expect competition with the best players. Isak is a player I used to watch; so seeing him join us makes me happy. The competition will be tough, but I will work hard to be at my best and perform well so that it becomes a problem for the coach only."

Ekitike joined Liverpool after a standout 2024-2025 season with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga in 33 matches.
