Newcastle United coach Eddie Howe expects an exciting atmosphere for his team's match against Liverpool (on Monday) at St. James' Park, which will be their first home game of the season, during the press conference he held this morning (Friday) for this match.
Coach Howe confirmed that Newcastle United will play the match against the Reds without Alexander Isak once again, and he anticipates "a very exciting display" from Newcastle fans who are eager to achieve their first win of the season.
Regarding the match on Monday and the fans at St. James' Park, he said: "The first game at home is always exciting. Under the lights, evening matches are always special for us, and I have no doubt that this will be a very exciting display from our fans. We need to take advantage of that, but without recklessness. We must focus and execute our plan, but benefiting from the energy of the fans will be vital for us."
On the new player Jacob Ramsey and the possibility of him making his debut, he said: "He will be ready to play, and we still have training sessions before the match, but he is in good shape and has shown a great performance in his first two days. He is very good technically, very smart, and I believe he will add a lot to the team. He has exceptional qualities."
Regarding player Anthony Gordon and his adaptability and central role against Aston Villa in the previous encounter, he said: "He has done enough to perform very well for the team. I don't mind using him several times, whether as a starter or a substitute. He plays differently from other forwards, but that can be a positive thing. He has amazing speed, a very good work ethic, and has scored goals. I think he played very well last week in many phases of the match."
About the partnership of midfielders Fabian Schar and Dan Burn, and his other defensive options, Coach Howe said: "Fabian and Dan were excellent against Aston Villa, in defense, leadership, and organization, ensuring we remained focused throughout the match. It was very easy for a single mistake to cost us a lot. I think we were very good in that regard."
In conclusion, the coach said: "Sven, Malek, and Jamal are excellent players individually and will provide us with a lot this year, but when you are not in the team, you have to be patient and train well so that you can seize the opportunity when it comes your way."
