The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms has documented nearly 59,000 cases of murder and injury affecting civilians in Yemen, caused by the bullets, shells, and mines of the Houthi militia since 2015 until now.
The network announced in a recent report that it has documented 58,904 cases of murder and injury committed by and caused by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias against civilians, during the period from January 2015 until the first half of the current year 2026.
The network reported that the crimes were distributed among 17,115 cases of murder, including 1,414 women and 1,156 children, and 41,789 injuries, including 6,710 women and 5,024 children.
It noted that among these crimes, there were 1,637 cases of murder and 6,135 injuries resulting from Houthi mines, explaining that 798 civilians among the injured suffered permanent disabilities, including 397 children.
These figures reflect the scale of human losses suffered by Yemeni civilians during the years of war, and the toll of Houthi militia practices that have resulted in fatalities, injuries, and individuals suffering from permanent disabilities, in addition to the ongoing threat of mines that endanger civilian lives and hinder their safe return to their areas and the resumption of their normal lives.
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms called on the international community, the United Nations, and active countries to take urgent and tangible actions, and not to be satisfied with mere condemnation and expressions of concern, and to pressure the Houthi militias to adhere to international humanitarian law and international human rights law, ensuring the protection of civilians and not using residential areas and civilian facilities for military purposes.
The rights network emphasized that the continued impunity encourages the repetition of crimes, and that achieving sustainable peace in Yemen cannot be realized without justice, accountability, reparations, and redress for victims, and ensuring that violations that have cost thousands of civilians their lives are not repeated.
