أعربت وزارة الخارجية اليوم (السبت) عن ترحيب المملكة العربية السعودية بالبيان الصادر عن أعضاء مجلس الأمن (الجمعة)، وما تضمنه من إدانة للهجمات الصاروخية التي تشنها مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية ضد المملكة العربية السعودية منذ 13 يوليو، وكذلك الهجمات ضد السفن التجارية منذ 22 يوليو.
وثمنت المملكة ما تضمنه البيان من تأكيد على ضرورة الالتزام بالقانون الدولي وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، وفي مقدمتها القرار 2216، واحترام سيادة الجمهورية اليمنية ووحدتها واستقلالها وسلامة أراضيها، ورفض الأعمال التي تهدد الأمن الإقليمي وحقوق وحريات الملاحة البحرية.
وجددت المملكة مطالبتها المجتمع الدولي بالقيام بمسؤولياته تجاه تنفيذ قرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، واتخاذ موقف حازم تجاه الممارسات والانتهاكات التي تهدد أمن واستقرار المنطقة وسلامة الملاحة والتجارة الدولية، وتقوض الجهود الرامية إلى تحقيق السلام في اليمن والمنطقة.
كما تجدد المملكة العربية السعودية تأكيد عزمها على حفظ أمنها وسيادتها، وحقها في الدفاع عن نفسها ومواطنيها ومقدراتها ومنشآتها ضد أي هجوم يستهدفها، واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة كافة بما يتوافق مع القانون الدولي.
وأكدت المملكة العربية السعودية دعمها الثابت للحكومة اليمنية الشرعية، ولجهود المبعوث الخاص للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لليمن الرامية إلى تحقيق السلام والأمن والاستقرار في اليمن، بما يعزز أمن واستقرار المنطقة ويحفظ أمن وسلامة الملاحة البحرية.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed today (Saturday) the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome for the statement issued by the members of the Security Council (Friday), which included a condemnation of the missile attacks launched by the Houthi terrorist militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 13, as well as the attacks against commercial ships since July 22.
The Kingdom appreciated the statement's emphasis on the necessity of adhering to international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216, and respecting the sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen, as well as rejecting actions that threaten regional security and the rights and freedoms of maritime navigation.
The Kingdom renewed its call for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities regarding the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions and to take a firm stance against practices and violations that threaten the security and stability of the region, the safety of navigation, and international trade, and undermine efforts aimed at achieving peace in Yemen and the region.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also reaffirms its determination to preserve its security and sovereignty, and its right to defend itself, its citizens, its resources, and its facilities against any attack targeting it, taking all necessary measures in accordance with international law.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed its steadfast support for the legitimate Yemeni government and for the efforts of the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in Yemen, which enhances the security and stability of the region and preserves the safety of maritime navigation.
