فيما تنطلق جولة المفاوضات السابعة بين لبنان وإسرائيل في روما، (الثلاثاء)، اندلعت اشتباكات بين الجيش الإسرائيلي وعناصر حزب الله خلال الساعات الماضية.
وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي إن أحد عناصره أصيب بجروح متوسطة خلال عملية عسكرية في جنوب لبنان.
بدوره، طالب مكتب منسق الأمم المتحدة في لبنان بالإنابة جان أرنو اليوم (السبت) بضرورة أن تضع إسرائيل حداً لعمليات التدمير التي تنفذها في جنوب لبنان، مؤكداً أن حجم التفجيرات وعمليات الهدم الإسرائيلية في جنوب لبنان يثير قلقاً بالغاً.
وشدد أرنو على ضرورة الحد من هذا التصعيد في وتيرة التدمير، مبيناً أن القنوات الدبلوماسية متاحة لمعالجة أي مسائل عالقة.
وكان الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون ندد بالتفجيرات الإسرائيلية التي استهدفت بعضاً من مواقع البنية التحتية والمعالم الأثرية في جنوب البلاد بوصفها تصعيداً بالغ الخطورة وتهديداً لسلامة المواطنين وأمنهم.
من جهة أخرى، تجري الاستعدادات لجولة المفاوضات السابعة بين لبنان وإسرائيل في روما، حيث من المقرر أن يرأس وفد لبنان السفير سيمون كرم، بمشاركة السفيرة ندى معوض، ووفد عسكري، ومن المتوقع أن تتم مناقشة تنفيذ الاتفاق السابق والخطوات القادمة.
وأبرم لبنان مع إسرائيل اتفاق إطار بوساطة أمريكية في 26 يونيو، وبموجبه يفترض أن ينتشر الجيش اللبناني في مناطق تجريبية بعد انسحاب إسرائيل منها، ويعمل على نزع سلاح حزب الله فيها وحظر أي وجود عسكري لأي مجموعة خارج القوى الحكومية، على أن يشكل ذلك تجربة لانسحاب إسرائيلي تدريجي من مناطق أخرى، غير أن حزب الله لا يزال يرفض الاتفاق، الذي لم يتضمن جدولاً زمنياً لانسحاب إسرائيلي كامل.
As the seventh round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel kicks off in Rome on Tuesday, clashes broke out between the Israeli army and Hezbollah fighters in recent hours.
The Israeli army stated that one of its members was moderately injured during a military operation in southern Lebanon.
For his part, the Office of the United Nations Coordinator in Lebanon, acting Jean Arnaud, called today (Saturday) for Israel to put an end to the destruction operations it is carrying out in southern Lebanon, emphasizing that the scale of the Israeli bombings and demolitions in southern Lebanon raises serious concerns.
Arnaud stressed the need to curb this escalation in the pace of destruction, indicating that diplomatic channels are available to address any outstanding issues.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli bombings that targeted some infrastructure sites and archaeological landmarks in the south of the country, describing them as a highly dangerous escalation and a threat to the safety and security of citizens.
On another note, preparations are underway for the seventh round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel in Rome, where the Lebanese delegation will be headed by Ambassador Simon Karam, with the participation of Ambassador Nada Mouwad and a military delegation. Discussions are expected to cover the implementation of the previous agreement and the next steps.
Lebanon and Israel signed a framework agreement mediated by the United States on June 26, under which the Lebanese army is supposed to deploy in experimental areas after Israel withdraws from them, working to disarm Hezbollah in those areas and prohibiting any military presence of any group outside of government forces, which is to serve as a trial for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from other areas. However, Hezbollah continues to reject the agreement, which did not include a timeline for a complete Israeli withdrawal.
