In a striking escalation of the media war between Tehran and Washington, a video broadcast by the Iranian agency (Mehr), which is close to the regime, sparked widespread controversy after it bore the shocking title "Where do we kill Melania?" It contained inciting content calling for the targeting of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, and presented detailed information about her movements and shopping habits, along with proposed scenarios for her assassination.
The release of the video followed a series of posts by U.S. President Donald Trump that included AI-generated images mocking Iran, prompting the Iranian agency to respond with strongly worded propaganda material. Although the video concluded with a threat directed at Trump's son (Barron), the primary focus was on Melania, who was presented in the clip as a "target that can be targeted."
The video claims that the information used in its preparation was gathered from "unknown surveillance networks" and satellite images, before showing footage of two presidential motorcades, claiming that Melania is traveling in one of them separately from the president. It also promotes the idea that the U.S. Secret Service gives Melania a different code name, "Muse," presenting this as a security breach.
The video showcases a list of luxury stores on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, including (Bergdorf Goodman) and (Saks Fifth Avenue), claiming they are "suitable locations for operations carried out by freedom fighters," according to the expression used in the clip. It also claims there are "early indicators" preceding Melania's visits to these stores and provides a detailed narrative of the protective measures taken by the Secret Service, such as removing waste containers and covering manhole covers and designating emergency routes.
The video goes on to present a list of stores that Melania is said to use for online shopping, before proposing what it described as a "strategy" based on "contaminating clothing" in those stores, dangerously mentioning the possibility of using the nerve agent VX, which is banned internationally, in an attempt to give a practical aspect to the threat.
The clip also displays the names of individuals said to be involved in coordinating the First Lady's fashion, implying that "large sums of money may tempt them," before concluding with a direct threatening phrase directed at Barron Trump: "This is just the beginning... Barron Trump, we are waiting for you."
These developments come amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States, and a week after billboards appeared in Tehran bearing slogans calling for the killing of Trump and members of his family under the title "Blood for Blood." This coincided with Melania's absence from several public events, raising media questions, although sources close to her confirmed that the matter was related to scheduling conflicts.
Melania, Barron, and all members of the presidential family receive permanent protection from the U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for securing the White House, Trump Tower in New York, and Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, amid American reports of ongoing Iranian threats against the U.S. president, who has previously stated that Tehran considers him "the number one target."
