هدد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الأحد)، بتدمير إيران بالكامل إذا لم تستجب لمهلته التي حددها بـ48 ساعة لفتح مضيق هرمز.
وقال ترمب للقناة الـ13 الإسرائيلية: «ستعرفون قريباً ما سيحدث بشأن الإنذار لمحطات الطاقة بإيران والنتيجة ستكون جيدة جداً»، مضيفاً: «سيكون هناك تدمير كامل لإيران وهذا سينجح بشكل ممتاز».
وأشار إلى أن إيران كانت سيئة جداً لمدة 47 عاماً والآن تنال العقاب الذي تستحقه.
وفيما يتعلق بموقف دول الناتو، قال ترمب: «دول الناتو لا تفعل شيئاً وهذا أمر مؤسف جداً».
وكان الأمين العام لحلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو)، مارك روته، قد قال في وقت سابق، إن مخططين عسكريين يعكفون على وضع خطة لتأمين حرية الملاحة في مضيق هرمز، مضيفاً: أجريت عدة اتصالات بالرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب لبحث تطورات الحرب الحالية في الشرق الأوسط.
بدوره، حذّر رئيس وزراء إسبانيا بيدرو سانشيز، اليوم، من أن العالم يقف على مفترق طرق، موضحاً أن أي تصعيد في الحرب الدائرة بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط قد يفجر أزمة طاقة عالمية.
وكتب سانشيز، على حسابه في «إكس»: «تطالب حكومة إسبانيا بفتح مضيق هرمز والحفاظ على جميع مواقع الطاقة في الشرق الأوسط، نحن نقف على مفترق طرق عالمي. وأي تصعيد إضافي قد يُفضي إلى أزمة طاقة طويلة الأمد للبشرية جمعاء»، مشدداً على ضرورة ألا يتحمل العالم تبعات هذه الحرب.
U.S. President Donald Trump threatened today (Sunday) to completely destroy Iran if it does not respond to his 48-hour ultimatum to open the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump told Israeli Channel 13: "You will soon know what will happen regarding the warning to Iran's power stations, and the outcome will be very good," adding, "There will be total destruction of Iran, and this will succeed excellently."
He pointed out that Iran has been very bad for 47 years and is now receiving the punishment it deserves.
Regarding NATO's stance, Trump said, "NATO countries are doing nothing, and this is very unfortunate."
Earlier, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated that military planners are working on a plan to secure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, adding: "I have had several communications with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss the developments of the current war in the Middle East."
For his part, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez warned today that the world stands at a crossroads, explaining that any escalation in the ongoing war in the Middle East could trigger a global energy crisis.
Sánchez wrote on his account on "X": "The Spanish government demands the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the preservation of all energy sites in the Middle East. We stand at a global crossroads. Any further escalation could lead to a long-term energy crisis for all humanity," emphasizing that the world should not bear the consequences of this war.
