كشف مصدر في وزارة الصحة السودانية اليوم (الأحد) وفاة 63 مدنياً خلال أسبوع بسبب «سوء التغذية» في مدينة الفاشر بإقليم دارفور التي تحاصرها قوات الدعم السريع منذ أكثر من عام. وأوضح المصدر أن عدد الذين ماتوا بسبب سوء التغذية في مدينة الفاشر بين يومي 3 و10 أغسطس بلغ 63 شخصاً، أغلبهم نساء وأطفال، موضحاً أن هذه الحصيلة تقتصر على من تمكّنوا من الوصول للمستشفيات.
وأشار إلى أن كثيرين يعجزون عن الوصول للمستشفيات بسبب العنف، مبيناً أنه إذا مات الشخص في البيت يتم دفنه مباشرة.
وكان تقييم نشرته الأمم المتحدة الشهر الماضي أكد أن 40% من الأطفال دون سن الخامسة في مواقع النزوح في الفاشر يعانون سوء التغذية الحاد، منهم 11% يعانون سوء التغذية الحاد الوخيم.
وتواصل قوات الدعم السريع التي تحارب الجيش منذ أكثر من عامين محاصرة الفاشر منذ مايو 2024، وقصف مخيم زمزم للنازحين الذي يؤوي عشرات الآلاف بعد أن فروا إليه.
ويعتمد معظم سكان دارفور في طعامهم على «التكايا» أو المطابخ العامة التي تقدم الوجبات للمواطنين، وباتت تعاني بدورها نقصا كبيرا في الموارد.
وقال المسؤول في «تكية الفاشر» مجدي يوسف: «أصبحت تُقدم وجبة واحدة فقط في اليوم، بعد أن كانت وجبتين قبل 6 أشهر».
واندلعت الحرب في السودان بين الجيش بقيادة عبد الفتاح البرهان وقوات الدعم السريع بقيادة نائبه السابق محمد حمدان دقلو في أبريل 2023، وتسببت بمقتل عشرات آلاف الأشخاص ونزوح 13 مليونا على الأقل، في ما تصفه الأمم المتحدة بأنه أسوأ أزمة جوع ونزوح في العالم.
A source in the Sudanese Ministry of Health revealed today (Sunday) that 63 civilians died over the course of a week due to "malnutrition" in the city of El Fasher in the Darfur region, which has been besieged by the Rapid Support Forces for more than a year. The source explained that the number of those who died from malnutrition in El Fasher between August 3 and 10 reached 63, most of whom were women and children, noting that this toll only includes those who managed to reach hospitals.
He pointed out that many are unable to reach hospitals due to the violence, explaining that if a person dies at home, they are buried immediately.
A report published by the United Nations last month confirmed that 40% of children under the age of five in displacement sites in El Fasher suffer from acute malnutrition, with 11% suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
The Rapid Support Forces, which have been fighting the army for more than two years, have continued to besiege El Fasher since May 2024, and have bombed the Zamzam camp for displaced persons, which shelters tens of thousands who have fled there.
Most of the residents of Darfur rely on "takiya" or public kitchens that provide meals to citizens, and these kitchens are also suffering from a significant shortage of resources.
The official at the "Takiya El Fasher," Magdi Youssef, said: "Only one meal is now provided each day, after it used to be two meals six months ago."
The war in Sudan erupted between the army led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by his former deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, in April 2023, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands and the displacement of at least 13 million people, in what the United Nations describes as the worst hunger and displacement crisis in the world.
