أبلغ الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب كبار مساعديه في وقت متأخر (الثلاثاء) بالموافقة على خطط الهجوم على إيران، لكنه أحجم عن إصدار أمر نهائي لمعرفة ما إذا كانت طهران ستتخلى عن برنامجها النووي، وفقاً لصحيفة «وول ستريت جورنال»، التي أكدت (الأربعاء)، أن «سيد البيت الأبيض» ينتظر قرار طهران بشأن برنامجها النووي.
فيما نقلت صحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» عن مسؤول إيراني كبير أن إيران ستقبل عرض ترمب لعقد اجتماع قريباً. وأضافت الصحيفة، نقلاً عن المسؤول، أن وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي سيقبل بمثل هذا الاجتماع لمناقشة وقف إطلاق النار مع إسرائيل.
U.S. President Donald Trump informed his senior aides late on Tuesday of his approval of plans for an attack on Iran, but he refrained from issuing a final order to see if Tehran would abandon its nuclear program, according to the Wall Street Journal, which confirmed on Wednesday that "the man in the White House" is awaiting Tehran's decision regarding its nuclear program.
Meanwhile, the New York Times reported that a senior Iranian official stated that Iran would accept Trump's offer to hold a meeting soon. The newspaper added, citing the official, that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi would agree to such a meeting to discuss a ceasefire with Israel.
