The Russian army launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine in response to recent attacks carried out on its territory. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that in response to the terrorist acts carried out by the Kyiv regime, the armed forces launched a wide-ranging attack at night using high-precision, long-range air, sea, and ground weapons, in addition to offensive drones. It announced the targeting of military sites after Ukraine confirmed the death of at least 3 people.

Violent explosions shook northern, eastern, western, central, and southern Ukraine today (Friday), amid widespread power outages, disruptions to railways, and disturbances in the Kyiv metro.

Ukrainian media reported that industrial sites were hit hard in the city of Ternopil in western Ukraine, with power outages affecting part of the city. The vital infrastructure in Chernihiv, north of Kyiv, sustained significant damage, according to social media.

Activists shared videos on social media showing massive explosions in several Ukrainian regions.

The Russian attack came after Ukraine recently adopted a series of strikes targeting Russian passenger and freight trains, as well as a large-scale drone attack on several military airports.

Russia confirmed that these attacks would not go unanswered and that it would respond at a time it deemed appropriate, especially since Russian President Vladimir Putin informed his American counterpart Donald Trump that Moscow is committed to responding to these attacks.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on June 1st that the Kyiv regime had carried out terrorist acts using drones enhanced with virtual reality against several military airports in the regions of Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur.
