An Israeli security source reported that Tel Aviv has decided to negotiate with Hamas remotely without sending delegations to Doha or Cairo. Channel 12 in Israel quoted the source as saying that Israel is operating at full strength in the Gaza Strip as if there are no negotiations. He considered that the only way to achieve a ceasefire is for Hamas to agree to the latest proposal from U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.

For his part, Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawe accused Israel of circumventing the truce proposal that was agreed upon by the Palestinian factions and the American mediator in order to resolve its internal issues, describing the policy of starvation as a disgrace to the world.

He stated that Israel wants to receive the ten hostages on the first day without providing guarantees for the implementation of the remaining terms, adding that it refuses to comply with the minimum humanitarian protocol agreed upon through the mediators.

It welcomed, in a statement, the continued Qatari and Egyptian efforts to reach an end to the war in the Gaza Strip.

It is worth noting that Egypt and Qatar announced their continued efforts to bridge viewpoints and work on overcoming the points of contention to reach a ceasefire agreement based on Steve Witkoff's proposal, allowing for the resumption of indirect negotiations. They confirmed in a statement their hope for a swift agreement on a temporary truce lasting 60 days that would lead to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and allow for the opening of crossings and the entry of humanitarian aid.
