In the heart of the kingdom, stories sprout that resemble its land: patient and moving forward. During my visit to "Al-Sairan Company," I saw how Vision 2030 translates ambition into impact; a young Saudi leads his team with confidence and knowledge, uniting hydroponics with solar energy, and linking the field with supply and distribution chains. This is not just a farm story, but a tale of professional and cognitive empowerment governed by governance and supported by state programs. Ghali bin Sairan is a model of "a person of determination" who carves his path quietly: higher production, lower consumption, and an awareness that the nation grows when we add beneficial work to it. From here, the "Okaz" initiative came to present faces of practical hope, where the energy of youth meets sustainability and quality of life.
Economy shapes identity:
From investment to skill
The economy does not just build factories; it builds the image of the homeland in the minds of its people and the world. When policies are measured by "impact," investment becomes a language of identity, and skill becomes a bridge to the future. In this context, "Okaz" presents a replicable model: a modern agricultural project led by the young Ghali bin Sairan, a person of determination, who chose the path of technology and governance over rhetorical discourse. The story here is not just about a farm, but about an enabling environment that transforms ideas into results, making knowledge the most important capital. Thus, Vision 2030 manifests: a system that organizes, skills that advance, and impact measured in quality of life, food security, and job opportunities.
A homeland that connects identity with economy
The National Day is an opportunity to measure the credibility of slogans by the scale of results. Vision 2030 presented a clear equation: diversifying the economy, deepening productive investment, and increasing resource efficiency. This equation cannot be completed without human skills capable of operating it. Hence, the value of field models comes to show how policies transform into performance, and how the economy becomes a driver of productive national identity.
Gateway to investment:
Capital when it meets governance
The experience of Ghali bin Sairan started with a simple question: How do we reduce waste and double efficiency? The answer began with choosing hydroponic technology and linking it to solar energy stations in the Riyadh region – Al-Dahlm Governorate – Al-Dhubaiya Center. But investment does not succeed with equipment alone; success here is the product of operational governance that links spending to performance indicators: productivity and quality tables, supply and marketing plans, and periodic reviews that keep decision-making close to numbers, not impressions. With this spirit, capital transitions from being silent money to a thinking system that optimizes allocation and manages risks.
Skill is the foundation of empowerment
The decisive difference was human capital: a team with diverse experiences, ongoing specialized training, and linguistic and technical skills that facilitate contracting, compliance, and standards. Digital transformation in the business environment (electronic invoicing, automated licensing, quality tracking) reduced time costs and increased transparency. According to project data, closed water systems led to a significant reduction in water consumption with improvements in production and quality; but the most important value is that this improvement is documented with numbers, allowing for rapid learning and studied expansion. Here, the vision manifests in its practical form: a skill that improves investment decisions, and an investment that funds skill development.
Practical applications: a model that can be replicated
What makes the experience replicable is not the "name of the project," but the methodology:
1. Choosing the appropriate technology for the environment: water systems that reduce waste and align with solar energy in a desert climate.
2. Governance by numbers: dashboards for production, quality, and cost, reviewed weekly and monthly for immediate decision-making.
3. Linking value chains: reliable supply contracts, standard specifications, and a gradient in marketing channels leading to regional exports.
4. Phase financing: expansion follows performance, not precedes it; each phase opens when the previous one achieves its goals.
5. Digital compliance: documents, invoicing, and operational tracking that reduce operational gaps and increase report credibility.
With these steps, the project becomes a learning platform: what succeeds is generalized, what falters is reviewed, and what is not measured is not managed.
A platform for regional expansion:
Quality builds trust
When quality is regulated by clear standards, talking about expansion becomes meaningful. The project prepares itself for export through verifiable specifications, cooling and transport chains that consider product sustainability, and marketing partnerships that accumulate experience, not risks. This expansion builds a reputation that transcends the company's name to a national reputation in a sector that intersects with food security and sustainability.
Economy shapes identity
This story is not an impactful exception; it is a standard of work that can be emulated by young projects in various sectors. When governance meets skill, and investment transforms into measurable performance, national identity advances with confident steps: a work identity, not a claim, and an impact that honors the flag on National Day and every day.
A family, a homeland, a legacy, and work measured by impact
By: Ibn Sairan Thamer Al-Subaie
Head of the Al-Sairan family, member of the diplomatic corps
Loyalty inherited by a generation building for another
National Day is not a call to a beautiful past, but a present review of one question: What have we added to the homeland? In this question, the Al-Sairan family summarizes its narrative: from the field of horsemanship under the banners of unity to the field of production under the banner of vision; steadfast loyalty and beneficial action.
First: the historical root... "An action that writes lineage"
The family's story is condensed into titles that have become performance witnesses:
• Mohammed — "Son of the Star of Suhail" with the dawn of the first state.
• Ghosain bin Mushai bin Mohammed — "Father of the Kid" a war commander and scholar who learned from the scholars of the second state, and his teacher Sheikh Abdul Latif bin Abdul Rahman Al Al-Sheikh.
• Thamer bin Sairan — "The Attaché of the Mukhalla" who protects the rear after the charge, and his camels were called "Mu'afi" for his fame in following the Suwaib, and his right hand was injured in a battle where he returned to rescue the wounded.
• Eid bin Sairan — "Protector of the Balid" and *"Shuwair the Great"*; a knight of the field and a trusted advisor to Prince Saud the Great, then Prince Mohammed (Shuqran) and Prince Abdullah, naming his son after Prince Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud the Great.
• Abdullah bin Eid bin Sairan — "Dean of Aid": helped widows by building homes, assisted youth in marriage, and supported the elderly and university students by paying debts and purchasing vehicles; a stable social contribution that asks for nothing in return.
Second: From the sword to the ear of grain... a project that translates the vision
The real transformation is for the family to move from the narrative of the field to the equation of impact. On documented land in Al-Dhubaiya – Al-Dahlm Governorate/Riyadh Region, an agricultural project operates that relies on hydroponics linked to solar energy stations, with operations measured periodically by production and quality and linked to supply chains. Ownership is registered on the real estate stock exchange, and the title is mortgaged to the Agricultural Development Fund; reflecting the discipline of governance and the legal right of the site.
• Financing and implementation: The project received loans from the Agricultural Development Fund with contracts that include a follow-up and evaluation annex and an extended repayment schedule for years; meaning financing is tied to oversight and knowledge, not just liquidity.
Summary of the axis: the vision in the field means money managed by knowledge, and financing that pursues performance until the impact is complete—not hanging slogans.
Third: State partnership... "Knowledge before money"
The Agricultural Development Fund is not just a funder; it is an enabling arm that provides:
• Facilitated loans linked to clear performance standards (duration and schedules).
• Regular follow-up and evaluation through an approved service annex, to ensure quality and close execution gaps.
• Legal guarantees that document the rights of both parties through legal mortgage on the project’s asset.
This system directly belongs to the philosophy of Vision 2030: transforming effort into measurable impact, and linking financing to institutional learning within the farm.
Fourth: "Ibn Sairan Ghali"... Determination that translates empowerment
The project is led by Ibn Sairan Ghali as a person of determination; a team with diverse experiences, disciplined operations, and adoption of smart technologies. His model shows that the space of hope in the vision is not the story of an individual, but a legislative, financial, and knowledge environment that makes youth partners in our food security and environmental sustainability.
Fifth: Extended social commitment
The family’s history was not a sword without grain; our ancestors — may God have mercy on those who passed — were known for building homes for widows and the elderly, assisting youth in marriage, and charitable works that were kept secret before being mentioned publicly. Today, we continue the same meaning with productive projects that operate, generate, and train.
National Day: Impact is the measure of loyalty
This is a testimony from a family that sees loyalty in the measure of work, not in the length of discourse. The Al-Sairan family is a page from the book of the homeland: they fought when the banners were raised, and they build when stability was achieved. With the partnership of the Agricultural Development Fund and the vision programs, determination has become an operational policy: responsible financing, continuous training, and measurable outputs.
May God preserve the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people, and grant us the blessing of security and prosperity.
