صرح المتحدث الأمني لوزارة الداخلية العميد طلال بن عبدالمحسن بن شلهوب، بأن المتابعة الأمنية الاستباقية التي تقوم بها الوزارة ممثلة بالمديرية العامة لمكافحة المخدرات، لرصد نشاطات وعمليات الشبكات الإجرامية التي تمتهن تهريب المخدرات، أسفرت عن ضبط (6,875,000) قرص من مادة الأمفيتامين المخدر، منقولة من الجمهورية اللبنانية، في محاولة لتهريبها إلى إحدى الدول عبر ميناء جدة الإسلامي، ومخبأة في شحنة عبوات دهانات، وبتمرير المعلومات للجهاز النظير في الجمهورية اللبنانية تم القبض على المتورطين في تهريب الكمية وضبط (8,000,000) قرص من مادة الأمفيتامين المخدر بحوزتهم ليبلغ إجمالي ما تم ضبطه في هذه العملية (14,850,000).
وأهاب المتحدث الأمني بالإبلاغ عن كل ما يتوافر من معلومات لدى المواطنين والمقيمين عن أي نشاطات ذات صلة بتهريب أو ترويج المخدرات، من خلال الاتصال بالأرقام (911) في مناطق مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة والرياض والشرقية و(999) في بقية مناطق المملكة، ورقم بلاغات المديرية العامة لمكافحة المخدرات (995)، وعبر البريد الإلكتروني 995@gdnc.gov.sa، وستعالج جميع البلاغات بسرية تامة دون أدنى مسؤولية على المبلّغ.
The security spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Talal bin Abdul Mohsen bin Shalhoub, stated that the proactive security monitoring conducted by the ministry, represented by the General Directorate for Drug Control, to track the activities and operations of criminal networks involved in drug trafficking, resulted in the seizure of (6,875,000) tablets of the narcotic substance amphetamine, transported from the Lebanese Republic, in an attempt to smuggle it to one of the countries via the Islamic Port of Jeddah, hidden in a shipment of paint cans. By passing the information to the counterpart agency in the Lebanese Republic, those involved in smuggling the quantity were arrested, and (8,000,000) tablets of the narcotic substance amphetamine were seized in their possession, bringing the total amount seized in this operation to (14,850,000).
The security spokesman urged citizens and residents to report any information they have regarding any activities related to drug trafficking or promotion, by calling the numbers (911) in the regions of Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and (999) in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom, as well as the General Directorate for Drug Control's reporting number (995), and via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be handled with complete confidentiality, with no liability on the reporter.
