تتواصل مسيرة المملكة العربية السعودية الإغاثية الإنسانية والخيرية منذ نشأتها وحتى عصرها الحالي بعطاءٍ سخي وعزم لا يلين ومبادئ ثابتة، إذ قدمت المملكة مساعدات إنسانية وتنموية تجاوزت 141 مليار دولار أمريكي، ونَفّذت ما يزيد على (7.983) مشروعًا في (173) دولة، مما رسّخ مكانتها بين أكبر الدول المانحة على مستوى العالم.
وفي خطوة لتعزيز هذا الدور الإنساني أنشأت المملكة مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية بتاريخ 13مايو 2015 بمبادرة كريمة من خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود – حفظه الله – ليكون الذراع الإنساني للمملكة في الخارج، مستندًا على مبادئ الشفافية والحيادية والاحترافية في أدائه، حيث نفذ المركز منذ تأسيسه (3.612) مشروعًا إغاثيًا وإنسانيًا في (108) دول، بقيمة تتجاوز (8) مليارات و(141) مليون دولار أمريكي، استفادت منها ملايين الفئات المحتاجة دون تمييز.
وفي سياق دعم الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق، حرصت المملكة على إيصال المساعدات إلى قطاع غزة للتخفيف من الظروف القاسية وأزمة المجاعة الكبيرة التي يشهدها القطاع، في ظل استمرار الحرب وتعقّد الوضع المعيشي للكثير من الأسر، حيث سيّر المركز جسرًا جويًا وآخر بحرياً وصل منه حتى الآن (58) طائرة و(8) سفن، حملت أكثر من (7.180) طنًا من المواد الغذائية والطبية والإيوائية، كما جرى تسليم (20) سيارة إسعاف لجمعية الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني، ووقّع المركز اتفاقيات مع منظمات دولية لتنفيذ مشاريع إغاثية داخل القطاع بقيمة (90) مليونًا و(350) ألف دولار، إضافة إلى تنفيذ عمليات إسقاط جوي بالشراكة مع الأردن لتجاوز إغلاق المعابر وتأمين وصول المساعدات.
وفي إطار مساندته للشعب السوري الشقيق سيّر المركز جسورًا جويّة وبريّة للجمهورية العربية السورية تحمل على متنها مساعدات غذائية وإيوائية وطبية لتقديمها للمتضررين والإسهام في تخفيف آثار الأوضاع الصعبة التي يمر بها الشعب السوري حاليًا، كما أطلق المركز برنامج «أمل التطوعي السعودي» لدعم الأشقاء في سوريا، والذي يتضمن تنفيذ (104) حملات تطوعية في مجالات طبية وتعليمية وتدريبية وتمكين اقتصادي، بمشاركة أكثر من 3 آلاف متطوع ومتطوعة من أبناء وبنات المملكة، ويغطي هذا البرنامج أكثر من (45) تخصصًا، بإجمالي ساعات تطوعية تقدر بـ (218.500) ساعة.
وفي استجابة عاجلة للكارثة الإنسانية الناتجة عن الزلزال المدمر الذي ضرب سوريا وتركيا في فبراير 2023 أطلق المركز جسرًا جويًا لتقديم مساعدات طبية وإيوائية وغذائية ولوجستية للمتضررين، إلى جانب تنظيم حملة شعبية عبر منصة «ساهم»، وتدشين برنامج «سمع السعودية» النوعي لزراعة القوقعة والتأهيل السمعي.
ومن بين أبرز الإنجازات الإنسانية التي تميزت بها المملكة البرنامج السعودي لفصل التوائم الملتصقة الذي أثبت تميزه إقليميًا وعالميًا من خلال إجراء (66) عملية جراحية دقيقة مجانًا بالكامل، شملت دراسة (150) حالة من (27) دولة مختلفة، دون تحميل المرضى أو أسرهم أي تكاليف، ما يجسد القيم النبيلة التي تنطلق منها المملكة في تقديم رعايتها الطبية للمتضررين حول العالم.
وبمبادرة من المملكة، اعتمدت الأمم المتحدة يوم 24 من نوفمبر يومًا عالميًا للتوائم الملتصقة؛ وذلك بهدف رفع مستوى الوعي حول هذه الحالات الإنسانية والاحتفاء بالإنجازات في مجال عمليات فصل التوائم الملتصقة.
ودشن المركز برامج نوعية مؤثرة من أبرزها مشروع «مسام» الذي أسهم في إزالة أكثر من (500) ألف لغم من الأراضي اليمنية، ما ساعد على حماية أرواح المدنيين، إضافة إلى برنامج الأطراف الصناعية الذي قدّم خدماته لآلاف الأشخاص ممن فقدوا أطرافهم، شملت تركيب أطراف عالية الجودة وتقديم خدمات التأهيل الشامل.
وضمن جهوده الموجهة للأطفال نفّذ المركز مشروع إعادة تأهيل الأطفال المجندين واستفاد منه (530) طفلًا يمنيًا تعرضوا للتجنيد أو التأثر بالنزاع، إلى جانب أكثر من (60) ألف فرد من أسرهم تلقّوا دعمًا نفسيًا وتوعويًا واجتماعيًا.
وعلى صعيد العمل التطوعي أطلق المركز البوابة السعودية للتطوع الخارجي التي تضم أكثر من (80) ألف متطوع ومتطوعة، ونفذ من خلالها نحو (991) برنامجًا في (55) دولة، استفاد منها أكثر من مليوني شخص، وشملت تلك المبادرات تنفيذ 236 ألف عملية جراحية مجانية في تخصصات مختلفة.
وفي جانب دعم العمل الخيري نجحت منصة التبرعات الإلكترونية «ساهم» في جمع أكثر من مليار و(605) ملايين دولار من (8) ملايين و(460) ألف متبرع، ما دعم استمرارية برامج المركز، ومكّن من الوصول إلى الفئات الأشد حاجة حول العالم.
وفي اليوم العالمي للعمل الإنساني المصادف للتاسع عشر من أغسطس من كل عام ميلادي ترسم المملكة من خلال مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة صورة مشرقة للعطاء الإنساني الذي لا يعرف الحدود ويزرع الأمل في قلوب المتضررين من الأزمات والكوارث حول العالم.
The humanitarian and charitable journey of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues from its inception to the present day with generous contributions, unwavering determination, and steadfast principles. The Kingdom has provided humanitarian and developmental assistance exceeding 141 billion US dollars and has implemented more than (7,983) projects in (173) countries, solidifying its position among the largest donor countries in the world.
In a step to enhance this humanitarian role, the Kingdom established the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action on May 13, 2015, through a generous initiative from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – to serve as the Kingdom's humanitarian arm abroad, based on principles of transparency, neutrality, and professionalism in its performance. Since its establishment, the center has implemented (3,612) relief and humanitarian projects in (108) countries, with a value exceeding (8) billion and (141) million US dollars, benefiting millions of needy individuals without discrimination.
In the context of supporting the brotherly Palestinian people, the Kingdom has been keen to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip to alleviate the harsh conditions and the severe famine crisis the region is experiencing, amid the ongoing war and the complicated living situation for many families. The center has operated an air bridge and a maritime bridge, through which (58) planes and (8) ships have arrived so far, carrying more than (7,180) tons of food, medical, and shelter supplies. Additionally, (20) ambulances were delivered to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, and the center signed agreements with international organizations to implement relief projects within the sector valued at (90) million and (350) thousand dollars, in addition to conducting air drop operations in partnership with Jordan to overcome the closure of crossings and ensure the delivery of aid.
In support of the brotherly Syrian people, the center has operated air and land bridges to the Syrian Arab Republic carrying food, shelter, and medical aid to provide to those affected and to contribute to alleviating the impacts of the difficult conditions currently faced by the Syrian people. The center also launched the "Saudi Volunteer Hope" program to support our brothers in Syria, which includes the implementation of (104) volunteer campaigns in medical, educational, training, and economic empowerment fields, with the participation of more than 3,000 male and female volunteers from the Kingdom, covering over (45) specialties, with a total of volunteer hours estimated at (218,500) hours.
In an urgent response to the humanitarian disaster resulting from the devastating earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey in February 2023, the center launched an air bridge to provide medical, shelter, food, and logistical assistance to those affected, in addition to organizing a popular campaign through the "Sahim" platform and launching the "Saudi Hearing" program for cochlear implantation and auditory rehabilitation.
Among the most notable humanitarian achievements of the Kingdom is the Saudi program for separating conjoined twins, which has proven its regional and global distinction by conducting (66) free surgical operations, including the study of (150) cases from (27) different countries, without imposing any costs on the patients or their families, embodying the noble values from which the Kingdom operates in providing its medical care to those affected around the world.
By an initiative from the Kingdom, the United Nations adopted November 24 as the International Day for Conjoined Twins; this aims to raise awareness about these humanitarian cases and celebrate achievements in the field of separating conjoined twins.
The center has launched impactful quality programs, the most prominent of which is the "Masam" project, which has contributed to the removal of more than (500,000) landmines from Yemeni territories, helping to protect the lives of civilians. Additionally, the prosthetics program has provided services to thousands of individuals who have lost their limbs, including the installation of high-quality prosthetics and comprehensive rehabilitation services.
As part of its efforts directed towards children, the center implemented a project for the rehabilitation of child soldiers, benefiting (530) Yemeni children who were subjected to recruitment or affected by the conflict, along with more than (60,000) family members who received psychological, awareness, and social support.
On the volunteer work front, the center launched the Saudi Portal for External Volunteering, which includes more than (80,000) male and female volunteers, through which approximately (991) programs were implemented in (55) countries, benefiting more than two million people. These initiatives included the execution of 236,000 free surgical operations in various specialties.
In the area of supporting charitable work, the electronic donation platform "Sahim" successfully raised more than one billion and (605) million dollars from (8) million and (460) thousand donors, which supported the continuity of the center's programs and enabled reaching the most needy groups around the world.
On World Humanitarian Day, observed on August 19 each year, the Kingdom, through the King Salman Center for Relief, paints a bright picture of humanitarian giving that knows no borders and plants hope in the hearts of those affected by crises and disasters around the world.
