The main checkpoint and sorting point in "Al-Shumaisi" on the road linking Jeddah and Mecca is a civilizational point aimed at achieving the highest levels of security and safety on the roads, implementing Hajj instructions, and providing humanitarian services to pilgrims.

The outlet is equipped with high and precise monitoring and surveillance technologies, with 16 cameras determining the paths of vehicles along with special gates to detect any prohibited materials. The Special Forces for Road Security during Hajj perform various tasks to enforce and apply the instructions, provide humanitarian services, and enhance traffic safety by intensifying patrols on all roads in Mecca, as well as the roads linking Mecca to Taif and Jeddah, and the entrances to Mecca.

"Okaz" recorded a visit to the Al-Shumaisi center and observed the smooth flow of traffic amidst a tight security grip to prevent the passage of violators. The forces are stationed at the multiple entrances to Mecca: Al-Shumaisi, Al-Hudaibiya, Al-Kar, Al-Tan'eem, Subuha, Al-Kakiah, and several temporary centers forming a security cordon.

Al-Shumaisi is considered an architectural, civilizational, and visual facade for those coming to the Holy Mecca from pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors. The center works to reduce waiting times during peak hours through 16 vehicle lanes using modern inspection and sorting technologies, in addition to special gates for detecting prohibited and banned materials.
