صرحت حكومتا المملكة العربية السعودية ودولة الكويت بأن عمليات الوفرة المشتركة تمكنت من اكتشاف بترولي جديد لحقل (شمال الوفرة وارة - برقان)، الذي يقع على بعد 5 كيلومترات شمال حقل الوفرة، حيث تدفق البترول من مكمن (وارة) في البئر شمال الوفرة (وارة برقان - 1) بمعدل كميات تجاوزت (500) برميل يومياً وبدرجة كثافة نوعية (26-27 API).
ويعد هذا الاكتشاف الأول منذ استئناف عمليات الإنتاج في المنطقة المقسومة والمنطقة المغمورة المحاذية للمنطقة المقسومة في منتصف عام (2020)، كما يعد ذا أهمية عالية؛ نظراً إلى ما يحمله من أثر إيجابي ينعكس على مكانة البلدين وموثوقيتهما في إمداد العالم بالطاقة وقدرتهما في قطاع التنقيب والإنتاج.
The governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait have announced that the joint operations of Al-Wafra have succeeded in discovering a new oil field in the (North Wafra Wara - Burgan) field, which is located 5 kilometers north of the Wafra field. Oil flowed from the (Wara) reservoir in the North Wafra well (Wara Burgan - 1) at a rate exceeding (500) barrels per day with a specific gravity of (26-27 API).
This discovery is the first since the resumption of production operations in the divided zone and the submerged area adjacent to the divided zone in mid-2020. It is also of high importance due to its positive impact on the status of both countries and their reliability in supplying the world with energy and their capabilities in the exploration and production sector.
