افتتحت سفيرة خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ومؤسسة مبادرة «Wave»، الأميرة ريما بنت بندر بن سلطان بن عبدالعزيز، فعالية «أصوات المحيط» (Voices of the Ocean)، التي أقيمت في مكتبة الكونغرس بالعاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن، بمشاركة أكثر من 300 من القادة والعلماء والمبتكرين في مجالات البيئة والعلوم والمحافظة على المحيطات.
وأكدت الأميرة ريما بنت بندر، في كلمة خلال الفعالية، أهمية توحيد الجهود العلمية والمجتمعية لحماية المحيطات واستعادة سلامة أنظمتها البيئية، مشيرة إلى أهمية تحويل المعرفة والبيانات إلى أدوات تدعم العمل المشترك، وتعزز فهم الإنسان للحياة البحرية، وتسهم في بناء مستقبل أكثر استدامة للمحيطات.
وتعمل مبادرة «Wave»، التي أسستها الأميرة ريما بنت بندر، على دعم الجهود الدولية للحفاظ على المحيطات والبحار واستعادة توازنها واستدامتها، انطلاقاً من أهميتها في الحفاظ على التوازن البيئي والمناخي عالمياً، وتأثيرها في البيئة والاقتصاد العالمي.
The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States and the founder of the "Wave" initiative, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, inaugurated the "Voices of the Ocean" event, which was held at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., with the participation of more than 300 leaders, scientists, and innovators in the fields of environment, science, and ocean conservation.
Princess Reema bint Bandar emphasized, in a speech during the event, the importance of unifying scientific and community efforts to protect the oceans and restore the integrity of their ecosystems, pointing out the necessity of transforming knowledge and data into tools that support collaborative work, enhance human understanding of marine life, and contribute to building a more sustainable future for the oceans.
The "Wave" initiative, founded by Princess Reema bint Bandar, works to support international efforts to conserve the oceans and seas and restore their balance and sustainability, based on their significance in maintaining global environmental and climatic balance, as well as their impact on the environment and the global economy.
