أعلنت المنظمة العالمية للصحة الحيوانية (WOAH) اعتماد الخلو الذاتي للمملكة رسميًا من مرض «الدورين» الذي يصيب الخيول، بعد استيفائها الأنظمة والمعايير الدولية المعتمدة.
وجاء الاعتماد عقب تقييم الملف الفني الذي قدمه المركز الوطني للوقاية من الآفات النباتية والأمراض الحيوانية ومكافحتها «وقاء»، متضمنًا نتائج التقصي الوبائي والمسوح الميدانية والإجراءات الوقائية المطبقة في مناطق المملكة.
ويعزز الاعتماد الدولي جهود المملكة في حماية قطاع الخيل وتطوير منظومتها البيطرية، بما يدعم استضافة البطولات العالمية للفروسية وسباقات الخيل، ويؤكد كفاءة الكوادر الوطنية في مكافحة الأمراض العابرة للحدود.
وكانت المنظمة قد أعلنت خلال العام الحالي خلو المملكة من مرض التهاب الشرايين الفايروسي في الخيول، فيما أعلنت العام الماضي خلوها من الرعام وأنيميا الخيل وطاعون الخيل الأفريقي، وفقًا للمعايير الدولية للصحة الحيوانية.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) has officially announced the self-declaration of the Kingdom as free from the disease "dourine" that affects horses, after meeting the established international regulations and standards.
This declaration came after evaluating the technical file submitted by the National Center for Plant and Animal Pest Prevention and Control "Waqaya", which included the results of epidemiological investigations, field surveys, and preventive measures implemented in various regions of the Kingdom.
The international recognition enhances the Kingdom's efforts in protecting the equine sector and developing its veterinary system, supporting the hosting of global equestrian championships and horse racing, and confirming the efficiency of national personnel in combating transboundary diseases.
The organization had announced earlier this year that the Kingdom is free from viral arteritis in horses, while it announced last year that it was free from equine viral arteritis, equine anemia, and African horse sickness, according to international standards for animal health.
