أعلنت هيئة التراث تسجيل 1173 موقعاً أثرياً جديداً في السجل الوطني للآثار، ليرتفع بذلك إجمالي عدد المواقع الأثرية المسجلة في السجل إلى 14164 موقعاً أثرياً، في خطوة تعكس استمرار جهود الهيئة في حصر المواقع الأثرية وتوثيقها، وتعزيز حمايتها وصونها بوصفها جزءاً أصيلاً من التراث الثقافي الوطني، يسهم في إبراز البعد الحضاري للمملكة، ودعم مستهدفات التنمية الثقافية.
وشملت المواقع الأثرية المسجلة حديثاً عدداً من مناطق المملكة، على النحو التالي: منطقة مكة المكرمة (87) موقعاً، ومنطقة المدينة المنورة (388) موقعاً، ومنطقة عسير (42) موقعاً، ومنطقة تبوك (209) مواقع، ومنطقة حائل (130) موقعاً، ومنطقة نجران (186) موقعاً، ومنطقة الجوف (131) موقعاً أثرياً.
وأكدت الهيئة أن تسجيل المواقع الأثرية يمثل خطوة أساسية ضمن منظومة إدارة التراث الثقافي، إذ يتيح إدراج المواقع في السجل الوطني للآثار توفير الحماية النظامية لها، وتنظيم أعمال البحث والتنقيب والدراسة العلمية فيها، إلى جانب دعم جهود التخطيط العمراني، وحماية المواقع ذات القيمة التاريخية من التأثيرات السلبية للتوسع العمراني أو الأنشطة غير المرخصة، كما يسهم في تعزيز فرص الاستثمار الثقافي في المواقع المؤهلة، ودعم المبادرات الوطنية الرامية إلى إبراز المقومات الحضارية للمملكة، وتعزيز حضورها الثقافي على المستويين المحلي والدولي.
ودعت هيئة التراث المواطنين والمقيمين إلى الإبلاغ عن المواقع الأثرية أو أي ممارسات تمس سلامتها.
The Heritage Authority announced the registration of 1,173 new archaeological sites in the national register of antiquities, raising the total number of registered archaeological sites in the register to 14,164 sites. This step reflects the ongoing efforts of the authority to inventory and document archaeological sites, enhance their protection and preservation as an integral part of the national cultural heritage, contributing to highlighting the civilizational dimension of the Kingdom and supporting the targets of cultural development.
The newly registered archaeological sites included a number of regions in the Kingdom, as follows: Makkah Region (87 sites), Madinah Region (388 sites), Asir Region (42 sites), Tabuk Region (209 sites), Hail Region (130 sites), Najran Region (186 sites), and Al-Jawf Region (131 archaeological sites).
The authority confirmed that the registration of archaeological sites represents a fundamental step within the framework of cultural heritage management, as it allows for the inclusion of sites in the national register of antiquities, providing legal protection for them, organizing research, excavation, and scientific study activities, in addition to supporting urban planning efforts, and protecting historically significant sites from the negative impacts of urban expansion or unlicensed activities. It also contributes to enhancing cultural investment opportunities in eligible sites and supports national initiatives aimed at highlighting the civilizational components of the Kingdom and enhancing its cultural presence at both the local and international levels.
The Heritage Authority urged citizens and residents to report any archaeological sites or practices that may harm their integrity.
