The Houthi terrorist militia continued its escalation for the second day, and Yemeni military sources confirmed the death of two individuals and six injuries following a Houthi attack on the Harib district in Marib today, Monday.

The sources reported that the Yemeni army's artillery targeted a control center, missile launch platforms, and Houthi militia barracks in Jabal Helan west of the governorate. It also targeted other missile launch platforms in the Al-Jawba district south of Marib.

For his part, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, expressed deep concern regarding the recent attacks launched by the Houthi militia on the city of Al-Mokha, which resulted in civilian and military casualties and damage to infrastructure, including the port.

Grundberg stated in a post on "X" today (Monday) that these attacks come amid an unprecedented military escalation of operations since the UN-brokered truce in 2022, sharply increasing the risk of a return to large-scale conflict in Yemen.

He emphasized that the recent Houthi attacks have put civilians at serious risk in Al-Mokha, Marib, and other areas, stressing the need to halt this escalation and protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The UN envoy called on the parties to exercise maximum restraint and work with my office to take concrete steps to de-escalate and prevent further erosion of what the truce has achieved for Yemeni civilians.

He affirmed that this conflict cannot be sustainably resolved except through an inclusive political process, as the escalation drives Yemen in the opposite direction, and civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected from the repercussions of further escalation.
