اتهم وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي يسرائيل كاتس، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، إيران بالسعي لاغتيال رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو.
وقال كاتس: إن جهاز الأمن العام الإسرائيلي (الشاباك) يملك معلومات مؤكدة تفيد بأن إيران تسعى لاغتيال رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو.
وأوضح كاتس، في تصريحات خلال مؤتمر صحفي نظمته القناة 14 الإسرائيلية: «نرغب بشدة في استهداف مواقع الطاقة الإيرانية، لكن الولايات المتحدة لا توافق على ذلك في الوقت الراهن»، مبيناً أن واشنطن تخشى أن تؤدي مثل هذه الهجمات إلى رد إيراني ضد الدول المجاورة، ما قد يُشعل أزمة نفط عالمية.
وأشار وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي إلى أن المقاتلات الأمريكية تنطلق من إسرائيل في طريقها لشن غارات على إيران، مضيفاً: «الإيرانيون يطلقون النار على جميع دول المنطقة باستثناء دولة واحدة، وهي إسرائيل، إنهم يعلمون أن الطائرات المقاتلة الأمريكية وطائرات التزود بالوقود تنطلق من هنا لتنفيذ غارات».
واستقبل الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو في البيت الأبيض، في ثامن لقاء يجمعهما منذ عودة ترمب إلى الرئاسة، وذلك بعد وصول نتنياهو إلى الولايات المتحدة أمس (الإثنين).
ويُعد هذا الاجتماع الأول بين ترمب ونتنياهو منذ فبراير الماضي، أي قبل الحملة الجوية المشتركة التي شنتها الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل على إيران.
وأكد ترمب، في مقابلة مع شبكة «فوكس نيوز»، أن الولايات المتحدة في موقف قوي للغاية، مؤكداً استعداده لتوجيه ضربات جديدة إلى إيران إذا فشلت المساعي للتوصل إلى اتفاق.
في المقابل، نقلت وسائل إعلام إيرانية رسمية عن القيادة الموحدة للقوات المسلحة الإيرانية قولها، اليوم، إن أي دولة أو شركة تتسلم أصولاً إيرانية مُصادرة لن يُسمح لها بالعبور عبر مضيق هرمز، وذلك رداً على تصريحات ترمب، الذي قال فيها لشبكة «فوكس نيوز»: إن الولايات المتحدة تتحكم في حركة الملاحة عبر مضيق هرمز، وليست إيران، ولا يمر من المضيق سوى السفن التي نريد مرورها.
The Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz accused Iran today (Tuesday) of seeking to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Katz stated that the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) has confirmed information indicating that Iran is attempting to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Katz explained in remarks during a press conference organized by Israeli Channel 14: "We strongly wish to target Iranian energy sites, but the United States does not agree to that at this time," noting that Washington fears such attacks could lead to an Iranian response against neighboring countries, which could ignite a global oil crisis.
The Israeli Defense Minister pointed out that American fighter jets are taking off from Israel on their way to carry out strikes on Iran, adding: "The Iranians are firing at all the countries in the region except for one, which is Israel. They know that American fighter jets and refueling planes are taking off from here to conduct strikes."
U.S. President Donald Trump received Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today (Tuesday) at the White House, marking their eighth meeting since Trump returned to the presidency, following Netanyahu's arrival in the United States yesterday (Monday).
This meeting is the first between Trump and Netanyahu since February, prior to the joint air campaign launched by the United States and Israel against Iran.
Trump confirmed in an interview with Fox News that the United States is in a very strong position, reiterating his readiness to launch new strikes against Iran if efforts to reach an agreement fail.
In contrast, Iranian state media reported today that the unified command of the Iranian armed forces stated that any country or company receiving confiscated Iranian assets will not be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, in response to Trump's remarks in which he told Fox News that the United States controls navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, not Iran, and that only ships we want to pass through the strait will do so.
