The Jordanian army announced today (Thursday) that it intercepted four Iranian missiles and six drones targeting the country.

The Jordan News Agency "Petra" quoted a responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces stating that the Royal Air Force dealt with four Iranian missiles and six drones targeting the kingdom's territory during the past 24 hours, indicating that air defenses intercepted and shot down three missiles this morning, while the fourth missile fell in a remote area devoid of population. He added that the six drones were intercepted and shot down yesterday evening, confirming that the operation did not result in any human injuries or material losses.

The source noted that teams from the Royal Engineering Corps moved to the sites of the missile's fall and debris, dealt with them, and secured the sites according to the applicable technical and security procedures. He pointed out that the armed forces continue to monitor the skies of the kingdom and maintain the highest levels of operational readiness to deal with any threat targeting the kingdom's security and the safety of its citizens, according to the rules of engagement in place, urging citizens not to approach the sites of fallen objects or debris, and to report them immediately, while obtaining information from official sources and not spreading rumors or unreliable news.

On another note, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi reiterated his country's firm stance rejecting any aggression against Arab countries, during a speech delivered on the occasion of the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution. Sisi called on all concerned parties to "cease the use of force, exercise restraint, stop escalation, and return to the negotiating table, in upholding the value of peace and safeguarding the rights of peoples."

Sisi urged the countries of the world to "make every effort to stop wars and conflicts, especially in the Middle East, and to confront destructive tendencies aimed at perpetuating hatred, bloodshed, and destruction."

He emphasized "the necessity of not halting serious and diligent efforts to achieve a just peace that ensures stability and prosperity for all peoples, as the world has room for everyone," explaining that "history has proven that violence only brings more violence, and its known result is ruin and destruction."
