أكد وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية بندر الخريف، أن التحديات المرتبطة بسلاسل إمداد المعادن الحرجة متعددة ولا يمكن معالجتها من خلال حلول منفردة، مؤكدًا أن التعاون الدولي يُعد عاملًا أساسيًّا لتمكين الاستثمارات وتحقيق الاستدامة في قطاع التعدين، إضافة إلى الأثر البالغ للجهود المشتركة في معالجة التحديات المرتبطة بالتمويل والمعالجة والجوانب البيئية والاجتماعية في رحلة التعدين.
جاء ذلك خلال مشاركة الوزير الخريف في جلسة حوارية بعنوان «تحفيز الاستثمار في سلاسل إمداد المعادن الحرجة»، عُقدت ضمن أعمال أحد المؤتمرات في مدينة إسطنبول التركية، بمشاركة صناع القرار في قطاع التعدين ونخبة من المستثمرين من مختلف دول العالم.
وأوضح الوزير الخريف أهمية تعزيز التعاون الدولي بين الحكومات والقطاع الخاص والمنظمات الدولية لتطوير سلاسل إمداد المعادن الحرجة، ومعالجة التحديات المرتبطة بالتمويل والمعالجة والتقنيات، بما يدعم التحول العالمي في مجالي الطاقة والتقنية.
تنويع الاقتصاد الوطني
وأشار الوزير الخريف إلى أن المملكة تنظر إلى قطاع التعدين بوصفه أحد الركائز الرئيسة لتنويع الاقتصاد الوطني وتعزيز تنافسيته عالميًّا، مبينًا أن المملكة تمتلك مزايا تنافسية مهمة، تشمل موقعها الجغرافي الإستراتيجي، وتوفر مصادر الطاقة، مما يؤهلها لأن تصبح شريكًا فاعلًا في سلاسل إمداد المعادن الحرجة على المستوى الدولي.
تسريع إجراءات الرخص
وبيّن الوزير الخريف أن المملكة عملت خلال السنوات الماضية على تطوير البيئة الاستثمارية في قطاع التعدين عبر إطلاق نظام الاستثمار التعديني، الذي يُعد من الأنظمة التنافسية عالميًّا؛ إذ يوازن بين مصالح المستثمرين وتحقيق الاستفادة من الموارد المعدنية، فضلًا عن حرص المملكة على تسريع إجراءات إصدار الرخص التعدينية مستهدفةً تقليص مدتها إلى نحو 90 يومًا، بما يعزز جاذبية القطاع للاستثمارات النوعية.
ولفت وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية إلى أهمية توظيف الابتكار والتقنيات الحديثة في قطاع التعدين، والاستفادة من التطورات التقنية العالمية لتحسين كفاءة العمليات التعدينية.
The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Al-Khorayef, confirmed that the challenges related to critical mineral supply chains are multifaceted and cannot be addressed through isolated solutions, emphasizing that international cooperation is a fundamental factor in enabling investments and achieving sustainability in the mining sector, in addition to the significant impact of joint efforts in addressing challenges related to financing, processing, and environmental and social aspects in the mining journey.
This came during Minister Al-Khorayef's participation in a panel discussion titled "Stimulating Investment in Critical Mineral Supply Chains," held as part of one of the conferences in Istanbul, Turkey, with the participation of decision-makers in the mining sector and a select group of investors from various countries around the world.
The minister highlighted the importance of enhancing international cooperation among governments, the private sector, and international organizations to develop critical mineral supply chains and address challenges related to financing, processing, and technologies, supporting the global transition in the fields of energy and technology.
Diversifying the National Economy
Minister Al-Khorayef pointed out that the Kingdom views the mining sector as one of the main pillars for diversifying the national economy and enhancing its global competitiveness, indicating that the Kingdom possesses significant competitive advantages, including its strategic geographical location and the availability of energy resources, which qualify it to become an active partner in critical mineral supply chains at the international level.
Accelerating Licensing Procedures
The minister explained that the Kingdom has worked in recent years to develop the investment environment in the mining sector by launching the Mining Investment System, which is considered one of the globally competitive systems; it balances the interests of investors and the effective utilization of mineral resources, in addition to the Kingdom's commitment to accelerating the issuance of mining licenses, aiming to reduce the duration to about 90 days, thereby enhancing the sector's attractiveness for quality investments.
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources emphasized the importance of employing innovation and modern technologies in the mining sector and benefiting from global technological developments to improve the efficiency of mining operations.
