ارتفعت الإيرادات الجمركية في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إلى نحو 47 مليار دولار منذ بداية عام 2025 وحتى 13 مايو الجاري، وفقاً لأحدث بيانات وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية، مسجلة زيادة قدرها 15 مليار دولار مقارنة بالفترة نفسها من العام الماضي.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قد أكد أن تطبيق التعريفات الجمركية الجديدة من المفترض أن يرفع إيرادات الخزينة الأمريكية بشكل كبير.
لكن على الرغم من هذا الارتفاع، فإن التقديرات المستقلة لإجمالي العوائد الجمركية المحتملة لا تزال أقل بكثير من التوقعات المتفائلة التي يروّج لها مؤيدو سياسة الرسوم.
فبحسب كلية Wharton التابعة لجامعة بنسلفينيا، من المتوقع أن تؤدي الحزمة الكاملة من الرسوم المقترحة، بما في ذلك الرسوم المتبادلة المعلقة حاليّاً، إلى توليد إيرادات تقارب 290 مليار دولار سنويّاً على مدى العقد القادم، مع احتساب الأثر المتوقع لانخفاض الطلب على الواردات بسبب ارتفاع التعرفة.
أما التقديرات الأكثر تحفظاً، فتأتي من جامعة Yale التي تتوقع عائدات سنوية في حدود 180 مليار دولار سنويّاً، وهذا أقل بكثير من الأرقام التي يتوقعها Peter Navarro مستشار ترمب لسياسات التجارة الذي يقدرها عند 600 مليار دولار سنويّاً.

The customs revenues in the United States have risen to nearly $47 billion from the beginning of 2025 until May 13, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, marking an increase of $15 billion compared to the same period last year.
U.S. President Donald Trump had confirmed that the implementation of new tariffs is expected to significantly boost U.S. Treasury revenues.
However, despite this increase, independent estimates of the total potential customs revenues remain much lower than the optimistic projections promoted by supporters of the tariff policy.
According to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the full package of proposed tariffs, including currently suspended reciprocal tariffs, is expected to generate revenues of around $290 billion annually over the next decade, accounting for the anticipated impact of reduced demand for imports due to higher tariffs.
On the other hand, more conservative estimates come from Yale University, which predicts annual revenues of about $180 billion, which is much lower than the figures expected by Peter Navarro, Trump's trade policy advisor, who estimates them at $600 billion annually.
