When the coastal city of "Jeddah" hosted the Gulf Cup (Gulf 27), it was the most prominent mark for the missions of sports teams, media delegations, and fans coming from all Arab countries to "Historic Jeddah." This made it, with the intense sports coverage, a focal point, surpassing other Gulf and Arab sports championships. Perhaps the celebration of Historic Jeddah in the media was a coverage of the football event, and we witnessed how the gatherings and chants of the participating Gulf teams' fans filled the place with joy and happiness.
In "Gulf 27," our national team won the championship, and Historic Jeddah won the media spotlight. With this glow, it is expected to build its next steps, and I am certain that the supervisor of the "Historic Jeddah Project," Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Issa, is capable of contributing with his brilliant ideas alongside his team.
As a lover of Historic Jeddah, I present Engineer Al-Issa with suggestions, and I am confident they have not escaped his mind:
The first: Attracting well-known branded shops and popular restaurants, even if it requires offering additional incentives, and choosing suitable locations for them, while reducing wholesale shops as they are in the wrong place.
The second: Creating parking spaces that facilitate access to Historic Jeddah, as the current parking is inconvenient for visitors, especially during hot weather.
The third: This is the most challenging, although nothing is truly difficult anymore, which is to cool the area, even partially. Jeddah is hot for most of the year, and we can benefit from the achievement made at Mount Arafat, and how our great country managed to air-condition the site in less than two months. The minds that innovated this idea are capable of finding solutions within Historic Jeddah.
In less than two months, our country will host the Asian Cup, and Jeddah is part of this hosting. Historic Jeddah will continue to shine, and the timing of the tournament is suitable for Jeddah, so the events should be more and more.
