Since the middle of the last century, Jews have not stopped reminding the world of the Holocaust, but today the irony that screams in the face of humanity is that those who were victims yesterday have become executioners today, repeating the same scene on the land of Palestine, specifically in Gaza, while the international community stands by in shameful silence, as if what is permissible for Israelis is not permissible for others.
In the twenty-first century, at a time when the world boasts of international laws and human rights, Gaza today is experiencing a new Holocaust: children are being slaughtered, families are being erased, homes are being leveled, mosques and hospitals are turning to rubble, amidst a suffocating siege that turns life into hell. Nevertheless, it does not seem that the Israeli government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, intends to stop; on the contrary, Netanyahu has announced the start of a military operation to completely occupy Gaza, as if he sees only one path ahead: more killing and destruction, as if Palestinian blood is of lesser value, as if international laws were designed to be applied only to the weak.
When we question the motives behind these crimes, we find that the answer goes beyond traditional security arguments. Netanyahu, mired in corruption cases that threaten his political life and personal freedom, uses war as a tool to escape accountability, exploiting the blood of innocents to repair his image and maintain his power. This is not just a war on Gaza; it is a war executed by a dictator to save himself at the expense of an entire people. To protect himself, he does not hesitate to turn Gaza into a mass grave, committing crimes that will be recorded in the annals of humanity as an eternal stain of shame.
This is not a fleeting war; it is a project to uproot an entire people from their land. The greater shame is that the West, which filled the world with cries about the Holocaust yesterday, stands today silent in the face of the Gaza Holocaust, as if the victims do not deserve to live.
