في السياق الاجتماعي لمنطقة الباحة، تشكل بعض الشخصيات حضورًا بارزًا في مجالات العمل الخيري والإسهام المجتمعي، بما تفرضه طبيعة حضورهم عبر أدوار تتطلب الخبرة والتوازن، ويُعدّ أحمد بن رداد الغامدي من الأسماء التي عُرفت في هذا الإطار، من خلال مشاركته في شؤون منطقته واهتمامه بالأنشطة المجتمعية لقريته، إضافة إلى حضوره في عدد من المواقف ذات الطابع الاجتماعي، التي تطلبت مساعي إصلاح أو دعمًا مباشرًا للفئات المختلفة.
وُلد أحمد بن رداد في قرية العباس التابعة لبني ظبيان في منطقة الباحة، ونشأ في أسرة معروفة بمشاركتها في الشأن المحلي في المنطقة.
تولّى دور العرافة في قريته بعد وفاة والده في محرم عام 1401هـ، واستمر في هذا الدور لعقود، محافظًا على تواصله مع الأهالي ومتابعًا للعديد من شؤونهم.
أكتب عنه اليوم بصفتي من أبناء المنطقة، وممن عايشوا عن كثب أدواره وجهوده في هذا الإطار، وتقديراً لدوره كقيمة تربوية عُرف عنها الإيثار وتغليب المصلحة العامة وتقوية أواصر المجتمع.
بدأ حياته المهنية معلمًا في قرية بني سار عام 1374هـ، وانعكس هذا الاهتمام بالعلم والتعليم لاحقًا على دعمه لعدد من الأنشطة الثقافية، وتشجيعه للمبادرات الشبابية والخيرية ذات الطابع المجتمعي.
عُرف عنه بسعيه لحل الخلافات بأسلوب هادئ، وتقديمه للمشورة في نطاق العلاقات الاجتماعية. كما أبدى اهتمامًا واضحًا باستمرار روح الجماعة، ودعم الجهود التي تحافظ على الأصالة والتراث والترابط الاجتماعي.
سيرة أحمد بن رداد لا تخرج عن نمط الشخصيات المحلية التي مارست أدوارًا مجتمعية نابعة من احتياجات بيئتها، دون سعي للظهور أو المكاسب، بل بدافع من الشعور بالمسؤولية والرغبة في تحقيق الاستقرار الاجتماعي ضمن الدائرة القريبة.
In the social context of the Al-Baha region, some individuals stand out prominently in the fields of charitable work and community contribution, as dictated by the nature of their presence through roles that require experience and balance. Ahmad bin Raddad Al-Ghamdi is one of the names known in this regard, through his participation in the affairs of his region and his interest in the community activities of his village, in addition to his presence in several socially-oriented situations that required efforts for reform or direct support for various groups.
Ahmad bin Raddad was born in the village of Al-Abbas, which is part of Bani Dhubyan in the Al-Baha region, and he grew up in a family known for its participation in local affairs in the area.
He took on the role of the village leader after the death of his father in Muharram 1401 AH, and he continued in this role for decades, maintaining his communication with the locals and following up on many of their affairs.
I write about him today as a son of the region, and as someone who has closely witnessed his roles and efforts in this context, and in appreciation of his role as an educational value known for selflessness, prioritizing the public interest, and strengthening the bonds of the community.
He began his professional life as a teacher in the village of Bani Sar in 1374 AH, and this interest in knowledge and education later reflected in his support for several cultural activities and his encouragement of youth and charitable initiatives with a community focus.
He was known for his efforts to resolve disputes in a calm manner and for offering advice within the scope of social relations. He also showed a clear interest in maintaining the spirit of community, supporting efforts that preserve authenticity, heritage, and social cohesion.
The biography of Ahmad bin Raddad does not deviate from the pattern of local figures who have played community roles stemming from the needs of their environment, without seeking prominence or personal gain, but rather driven by a sense of responsibility and a desire to achieve social stability within their close circle.
