موقف وزارة الصحة الحازم من إعلانات بعض الأطباء، وصدور تذكير من هيئة التخصصات بأخلاقيات المهن الصحية، وارتباطه بالتسجيل والتصنيف المهني والعضوية المهنية، يقرع جرساً تأخر سماعه طويلاً لبعض الممارسين الصحيين الذين اختلطت لديهم واجباتهم المهنية بمصالحهم المادية !
خلال السنوات الأخيرة، بدت تصرفات وممارسات بعض المنشآت الصحية والممارسين الصحيين أقرب للتجارة منها للطب، ولا عيب في أن يكون هناك رابط بينهما، لكن المشكلة عندما تطغى الغاية التجارية الربحية على الممارسة المهنية الصحية، فالطب من المهن النبيلة التي ترتبط بالحس الإنساني قبل أن ترتبط بالكسب المادي !
ولا بد أن أؤكد على حق الممارس الصحي في أن تكون ممارسته للمهنة مصدراً للرزق والكسب الحلال فهذا حق أصيل، لكن تختل المعادلة عندما يطغى الجشع عند البعض وتضعف بعض المعايير الأخلاقية للممارسة المهنية، فيتحول الممارس الصحي إلى تاجر يستغل آمال المرضى لتحقيق المكاسب المادية !
ومن الجيد أن هذه الممارسات المختلفة تبقى في مساحات ضيقة، لأن معظم الممارسين والمستثمرين في القطاع الصحي هم جزء من نسيج هذا المجتمع وما تشربه من أخلاقيات وقيم نبيلة، لكن محاصرة القلة السلبية وحماية الغالبية الإيجابية مما يلحقونه بالقطاع من تشويه للسمعة وزعزعة للثقة أمر ضروري لصالح المجتمع اجتماعياً وصحياً !
باختصار.. الممارسة الصحية مصدر رزق مشروع، لكنها كأي مصدر رزق آخر، يخضع لقيم الأخلاق وقواعد القانون !
The firm stance of the Ministry of Health regarding the announcements made by some doctors, along with a reminder from the Health Specialties Authority about the ethics of health professions, and its connection to registration, professional classification, and professional membership, rings a bell that has long been overdue for some health practitioners who have mixed their professional duties with their financial interests!
In recent years, the actions and practices of some health facilities and health practitioners have seemed closer to commerce than to medicine. There is nothing wrong with having a link between the two, but the problem arises when the commercial profit motive overshadows the professional health practice. Medicine is one of the noble professions that is tied to human sensitivity before it is tied to financial gain!
I must emphasize the right of health practitioners to have their practice be a source of livelihood and lawful income; this is a fundamental right. However, the equation becomes distorted when greed overtakes some individuals and certain ethical standards of professional practice weaken, turning the health practitioner into a merchant who exploits the hopes of patients to achieve financial gains!
It is good that these various practices remain in narrow spaces, as most practitioners and investors in the health sector are part of the fabric of this society and have absorbed noble ethics and values. However, it is essential to contain the negative minority and protect the positive majority from the damage they inflict on the sector in terms of reputation and trust, for the benefit of society both socially and health-wise!
In short.. health practice is a legitimate source of income, but like any other source of income, it is subject to ethical values and legal rules!
