The Saudi "Passports" has always been a pioneer in developing its services, with steps and stability that meet needs and consider changes. Its achievements are flashes that illuminate a rich history embodying the work ethos of this esteemed agency!

I told the Director General of Passports, Major General Dr. Saleh Al-Murabba, after a tour that included the Passports Operations Room and getting to know some of its new services, that you have always been a step ahead of others. Therefore, when Vision 2030 was launched, the Passports were ready to board the train and keep pace with the aspirations of the vision in facilitating transactions for citizens, residents, and visitors, and leveraging modern technologies in executing tasks and innovating solutions. Today, the Saudi Passports lead the world in using the latest technologies in issuing passports, detecting fraud cases, controlling border passport outlets, and facilitating their operations!

Today, anyone can carry out any transaction with the Passports without leaving their chair through the Absher application. While I shared with the Major General some observations regarding the electronic service procedures I encountered a few months ago, I was surprised when he informed me that all these observations had been addressed. I said to him, didn’t I tell you that you are always a step ahead of us!

The surprises of the Passports do not stop. It will soon be possible to renew and issue passports at airports in urgent cases, along with other things that might be best left until they are announced soon. All of these efforts aim to make the experience of issuing travel and residency documents and their procedures among the easiest elements of travel and mobility plans, especially with the Kingdom transforming into a global tourist and investment destination, and with the approach of many global events that the Kingdom will host, such as Expo and the World Cup!

During my visit to the Passports Institute, I encountered training for a batch of 362 female soldiers preparing for their graduation ceremony this week. I observed the precision and regularity of their military march, realizing the accuracy and organization of their training programs despite the short duration of the course, which does not exceed four months!

In short... I went to the General Directorate of Passports carrying impressions and experiences of years of excellence, and I returned with even more confidence in a more distinguished future!
