كان لافتاً لي بروز أفلام سعودية ضمن عروض صالات السينما في المملكة، بل ومنافستها على تصدر شبابيك التذاكر، وهذا يدل على وجود ممكنات ومحفزات مهّدت لنهوض صناعة سينما سعودية لطالما كانت غائبة طيلة عقود من الزمن !
في تقرير هيئة الأفلام السنوي لعام 2024 ملامح التغيير التي حصلت في أدوات وعناصر صناعة السينما السعودية، ابتداءً من تأسيس البنية التحتية للإنتاج، ومروراً بإيجاد برامج التمويل وتوفير حوافز الإنتاج وتطوير المواهب، ووصولاً إلى أرشفة الأفلام وتنظيم المهرجانات وتقديم الجوائز المحفِّزة لتجسيد الزخم الذي يشهده هذا القطاع الصاعد !
في الحقيقة، لم تتأخر هيئة الأفلام كثيراً، فقد تأسست عام 2020، بينما تصدر فيلم «سطار» السعودي - المدعوم من برنامج الاسترداد المالي - إيرادات شباك التذاكر بأكثر من 40 مليون ريال، مما شجع على إطلاق برامج ومبادرات لدعم صناعة الأفلام في المملكة، مثل برنامج «ضوء» وصندوق التنمية الثقافية، وكان انطلاق النسخة الأولى من منتدى الأفلام السعودي 2023 محفزاً ومبشراً، فيما وضع الفيلم السعودي «نورة» - المدعوم من برنامج «ضوء» - بصمته في مهرجان «كان» السينمائي كأول فيلم سعودي يشارك ويحظى بإشادة خاصة !
التقرير مليء بالأرقام اللافتة التي لا يمكن حصرها في مساحة هذا المقال، لكن لعل من أبرزها وجود 65 شركة إنتاج نشطة في السعودية، بالإضافة إلى 7 شركات توزيع، فيما بلغ ما أُنفِق على الإنتاج في المملكة أكثر من 147 مليون ريال، بينما بلغت المساحة المتاحة للاستديوهات 100 ألف متر مربع تقريباً !
اللافت، أن إيرادات شبابيك تذاكر السينما العالمية تشهد انخفاضاً بسبب هيمنة منصات البث المباشر، إلا أن شبابيك التذاكر السعودية حافظت على معدلات جيدة قياساً بالدول المجاورة وبعض دول العالم، حيث بلغت 845 مليون ريال !
باختصار.. وجود قطاع سينما سعودي قوي ومؤثر يمكّن دور الفن السابع من الإسهام في الابتكار والإبداع وتنويع الاقتصاد، ويعزز الهوية الثقافية وحفظ الإرث الفني للمجتمع المحلي !

This indicates the presence of possibilities and incentives that have paved the way for the rise of a Saudi cinema industry that has long been absent for decades!
In the annual report of the Film Commission for 2024, the features of change that have occurred in the tools and elements of the Saudi cinema industry are highlighted, starting from the establishment of the production infrastructure, through the creation of funding programs and the provision of production incentives and talent development, all the way to archiving films, organizing festivals, and presenting awards that stimulate the momentum witnessed by this emerging sector!
In fact, the Film Commission did not take long to establish itself, having been founded in 2020, while the Saudi film "Sattar" - supported by the financial recovery program - topped the box office revenues with more than 40 million riyals, encouraging the launch of programs and initiatives to support the film industry in the Kingdom, such as the "Daw" program and the Cultural Development Fund. The launch of the first edition of the Saudi Film Forum 2023 was both motivating and promising, while the Saudi film "Noura" - supported by the "Daw" program - made its mark at the Cannes Film Festival as the first Saudi film to participate and receive special acclaim!
The report is filled with notable figures that cannot be contained within the scope of this article, but perhaps one of the most prominent is the existence of 65 active production companies in Saudi Arabia, in addition to 7 distribution companies, while the amount spent on production in the Kingdom exceeded 147 million riyals, and the available space for studios reached approximately 100,000 square meters!
Interestingly, global box office revenues are witnessing a decline due to the dominance of streaming platforms, yet Saudi box office revenues have maintained good rates compared to neighboring countries and some parts of the world, reaching 845 million riyals!
In short, the presence of a strong and influential Saudi cinema sector enables the seventh art to contribute to innovation and creativity, diversify the economy, and enhance cultural identity while preserving the artistic heritage of the local community!
