ضرب إعصار قوي قادم من بحر أوخوتسك في إقليم كامتشاتكا في أقصى شرق روسيا، متسبباً في هطول ثلوج وأمطار غزيرة وحدوث فيضانات.
وقال حاكم إقليم كامتشاتكا فلاديمير سولودوف إن قوات الإنقاذ في حالة تأهب قصوى للحد من تأثير الإعصار، الذي بلغت فيه سرعة الرياح 50 متراً في الثانية في بعض المناطق.
وأضاف: «ضرب الإعصار كامتشاتكا برياح عاتية وأمطار غزيرة، واندلعت عاصفة حقيقية في البحر، مع توقع أمواج عملاقة يصل ارتفاعها إلى 9 أمتار في بحر بيرينغ والمحيط الهادئ، ما يشكل تهديداً لحركة الملاحة».
وأشار إلى انخفاض حد الرؤية إلى 100–500 متر بسبب العواصف الثلجية والأمطار، ما تسبب بوقوع العديد من الحوادث.
ويتوقع الخبراء استمرار هطول الأمطار والثلوج وتشكل الجليد على الطرقات وفي العديد من مناطق الإقليم.
A powerful cyclone coming from the Sea of Okhotsk has struck the Kamchatka region in the far east of Russia, causing heavy snowfall and rainfall and resulting in flooding.
The governor of the Kamchatka region, Vladimir Solodov, stated that rescue forces are on high alert to mitigate the impact of the cyclone, which has seen wind speeds of up to 50 meters per second in some areas.
He added, "The cyclone has hit Kamchatka with strong winds and heavy rain, and a real storm has erupted at sea, with giant waves expected to reach heights of 9 meters in the Bering Sea and the Pacific Ocean, posing a threat to navigation."
He noted that visibility has dropped to 100–500 meters due to snowstorms and rain, leading to numerous accidents.
Experts expect continued rainfall and snowfall, along with ice formation on the roads and in many areas of the region.
