أقال الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، أمينه العام إبراهيم القاسم من منصبه، بسبب تضارب القرارات الصادرة بشأن بطولة كأس السوبر السعودي 2025، الذي توج فيه النادي الأهلي باللقب التي أقيمت في هونغ كونغ، إثر فوزه على النصر في المباراة النهائية بركلات الترجيح بنتيجة 5-3، وفق البيان الذي أصده اتحاد اللعبة، وبعد توجيه وزير الرياضة ورئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير عبد العزيز بن تركي الفيصل، بفتح تحقيق بعد تصاعد الأزمة، بعدما أعلنت لجنة الاستئناف في الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، إلغاء قرار لجنة الانضباط والأخلاق ضد نادي الهلال، وحكمت مجدداً بثبوت ارتكابه مخالفة للائحة عبر الامتناع عن خوض بطولة كأس السوبر السعودي، واعتبرته خاسراً أمام القادسية بنتيجة 3-0 في نصف النهائي الذي كان مقرراً بتاريخ 20 أغسطس الماضي، قبل أن يوضح اتحاد كرة القدم أن مشاركة الأهلي في كأس السوبر التي أقيمت في هونغ كونغ نظامية وأن القرار غير قابل للاستئناف، إلا أن نادي القادسية أعلن بعد ذلك أنه سيتخذ جميع الخيارات القانونية والتنظيمية المتاحة لضمان حقوقه وذلك بعدما تم إشراك الأهلي أمامه في نصف نهائي السوبر السعودي بدلاً من الهلال.
وقال الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم في بيانه الذي بثه على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «X»: «إشارة إلى توجيه الأمير عبد العزيز بن تركي الفيصل رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية، للاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، بمعالجة الجوانب التنظيمية المرتبطة بالقرارات الصادرة بشأن بطولة كأس السوبر السعودي، واتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية التي تكفل استقرار تنظيم المسابقات، والحفاظ على حقوق الأطراف ذوي العلاقة، فقد قام مجلس إدارة الاتحاد في حينه بتشكيل فريق عمل لتقييم ودراسة كافة الجوانب المرتبطة بالموضوع والرفع بالنتائج لمجلس الإدارة»، وأضاف البيان: «بناء على ذلك فقد عقد مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 3 سبتمبر 2025 اجتماعاً، ثمن خلاله حرص الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي الفيصل ومتابعته الحثيثة لكل ما يهم القطاع الرياضي»، وتابع البيان: «بعد دراسة النتائج التي توصل إليها فريق العمل، فقد قرر مجلس الإدارة إقالة الأمين العام للاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم إبراهيم بن سليمان القاسم من منصبه، و تعيين سمير بن عبد الله المحمادي أميناً عاماً، وتفعيل دور الأمانة العامة في اللجان القضائية، بحيث تتولى عملية الإشراف المباشر على الأعمال الإدارية لأمانة السر لكل اللجان القضائية»، وكشف البيان عن استحداث منصب وظيفي بمسمى أمين سر اللجان القضائية، وذلك لدعم وتطوير عمل اللجان القضائية، على أن يتولى أمين سر اللجان القضائية تقديم الدعم الإداري بما يشمل عمليات التواصل الداخلي، ومتطلبات اللجان القضائية والرفع بالتقارير الإدارية الدورية للأمانة العامة، والعمل على تقييم الإجراءات الإدارية كافة المطبقة في عمل اللجان والتنسيق بينها دون الإخلال بمبدأ استقلالية اللجان القضائية، وشدد البيان على أن جميع إجراءات المشاركة كانت نظامية وسليمة، وأن الأهلي شارك في البطولة وفق الأسس القانونية المعمول بها.

The Saudi Football Federation dismissed its Secretary-General Ibrahim Al-Qassem from his position due to conflicting decisions issued regarding the Saudi Super Cup 2025, in which Al-Ahli Club was crowned champion after defeating Al-Nassr in the final match on penalties with a score of 5-3, according to the statement issued by the federation. This came after the Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, directed an investigation following the escalation of the crisis, after the Appeals Committee of the Saudi Football Federation announced the cancellation of the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee's decision against Al-Hilal Club, ruling again that it had committed a violation of the regulations by refusing to participate in the Saudi Super Cup, and considered it a loser against Al-Qadisiyah with a score of 3-0 in the semi-final that was scheduled for August 20, before the Football Federation clarified that Al-Ahli's participation in the Super Cup held in Hong Kong was legitimate and that the decision was not subject to appeal. However, Al-Qadisiyah Club later announced that it would take all available legal and organizational options to ensure its rights after Al-Ahli was included against it in the semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup instead of Al-Hilal.
The Saudi Football Federation stated in its announcement broadcast on the social media platform "X": "In reference to the directive of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, to the Saudi Football Federation to address the organizational aspects related to the decisions issued regarding the Saudi Super Cup, and to take the legal measures that ensure the stability of organizing competitions and preserving the rights of the concerned parties, the Federation's Board of Directors formed a working team at that time to evaluate and study all aspects related to the subject and report the results to the Board of Directors." The statement added: "Based on that, the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Federation held a meeting today, Wednesday, September 3, 2025, during which it appreciated the keen interest of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal and his diligent follow-up of everything concerning the sports sector." The statement continued: "After studying the results reached by the working team, the Board of Directors decided to dismiss the Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation, Ibrahim bin Suleiman Al-Qassem, from his position, and appointed Samir bin Abdullah Al-Muhammadi as Secretary-General, activating the role of the General Secretariat in the judicial committees, so that it would oversee the administrative work of the secretariat for all judicial committees directly." The statement revealed the establishment of a new job position titled Secretary of the Judicial Committees, aimed at supporting and developing the work of the judicial committees, with the Secretary of the Judicial Committees responsible for providing administrative support, including internal communication, the requirements of the judicial committees, and submitting periodic administrative reports to the General Secretariat, as well as evaluating all administrative procedures applied in the work of the committees and coordinating among them without compromising the principle of the independence of the judicial committees. The statement emphasized that all participation procedures were legitimate and sound, and that Al-Ahli participated in the tournament according to the legal foundations in force.
