تفوق منتخب عمان على نظيره المنتخب المصري بهدفين دون مقابل، فيما انتصر العراق على البحرين بهدف نظيف، وذلك ضمن لقاءات الجولة الأولى للمجموعة الثانية لبطولة الخليج تحت 20 سنة والتي تقام حالياً في مدينة أبها في المملكة العربية السعودية.
شهد اللقاء الأول فوزاً مستحقاً لمنتخب عمان على منتخب مصر وبنتيجة 2/ 0، وقدم المنتخب العُماني عرضًا قويًا ومنظمًا على المستويين الفني والتكتيكي، ما مكّنه من حسم اللقاء لصالحه، بينما لم يتمكن المنتخب المصري من استغلال الفرص التي سنحت له خلال مجريات المباراة، وسجل المنتخب العُماني هدفيه في الشوط الأول، حيث افتتح التسجيل حسام الناعبي بعد تمريرة من زميله فهد جميع ليغمزها الناعبي بقدمه اليسرى على يسار الحارس المصري عمرو عادل كهدف أول للمنتخب العماني (د: 8)، قبل أن يعزز أحمد سالم التقدم بالهدف الثاني من ركلة جزاء في الدقيقة 26، ليحسم منتخب بلاده النتيجة مبكراً.
وفي اللقاء الثاني تمكن العراق من تخطي منتخب البحرين بهدف دون مقابل في مباراة قوية، واستطاع المنتخب العراقي أن يخطف هدف الفوز من هجمة مرتدة أنهاها اللاعب فليح حسن في المرمى كهدف عراقي (د: 52).
وبذلك يتصدر عمان منتخبات المجموعة بفارق الأهداف عن وصيفه العراق اللذين يملك كل منهما 3 نقاط، وسيواجه عمان نظيره البحريني يوم الاثنين القادم، وفي ذات اليوم يلتقي العراق بمنتخب مصر وذلك ضمن لقاءات الجولة الثانية للمجموعة الثانية.

The Oman national team outperformed its Egyptian counterpart with a score of two goals to none, while Iraq defeated Bahrain with a single goal, in the matches of the first round of Group B of the Gulf Championship under 20 years, currently taking place in Abha, Saudi Arabia.
The first match witnessed a well-deserved victory for the Oman national team over the Egypt national team with a score of 2/0. The Omani team delivered a strong and organized performance on both technical and tactical levels, allowing them to secure the win. Meanwhile, the Egyptian team was unable to capitalize on the opportunities that came their way during the match. The Omani team scored both of its goals in the first half, with Hussam Al-Nabi opening the scoring after a pass from his teammate Fahd Jumai, which Al-Nabi deftly flicked with his left foot to the left of the Egyptian goalkeeper Amr Adel for the first goal for the Oman national team (8th minute), before Ahmed Salem doubled the lead with a penalty in the 26th minute, securing the result early for his team.
In the second match, Iraq managed to overcome the Bahrain national team with a goal to none in a strong match. The Iraqi team snatched the winning goal from a counterattack finished by player Faleh Hassan in the net as an Iraqi goal (52nd minute).
Thus, Oman tops the group standings on goal difference from the runner-up Iraq, with both teams having 3 points. Oman will face Bahrain next Monday, and on the same day, Iraq will meet the Egypt national team in the matches of the second round of Group B.
