The Inter Milan club has intensified its efforts to secure the future of its coach, Simone Inzaghi, amid serious interest from Al Hilal in signing him, in a move aimed at strengthening the coaching staff before the club's participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
According to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport," the sports management at Inter, led by Giuseppe Marotta, is preparing to make a new offer to the Italian coach to extend his contract until 2028, with an annual salary exceeding 8 million euros, in addition to performance-related bonuses, the most notable of which is a substantial bonus in the event of winning the UEFA Champions League, in which the team will play its final match next Saturday, with an estimated budget of 40 million euros to strengthen the attack in the summer transfer market.
Inzaghi's current contract extends until the summer of 2026, having been renewed last July following his achievement of winning the Italian league title for the twentieth time in the club's history, which granted Inter the second star. However, the club's policy dictates that no new season should begin with a coach nearing the end of his contract, which has prompted the acceleration of renewal efforts.
The newspaper reported that the club's management does not wish to start the upcoming season with a coach whose contract is approaching its end, in line with Inter's policy of maintaining technical stability. Despite the financial temptations from Al Hilal, which have changed the landscape of negotiations, the Italian club still prioritizes renewing Inzaghi's contract, a sentiment echoed by the coach himself, who stated: "The goal is always the best interest of Inter. If all the right elements and conditions are in place, we will continue together."
The newspaper also indicated that official talks will be held early next week, after the conclusion of the Champions League final that the team will play next Saturday. The club hopes that these negotiations will take place in a celebratory atmosphere if Inzaghi succeeds in leading the team to achieve the European title.
