The Brazilian coach of Al-Taawoun, Brekles Shamuska, expressed his happiness at returning to coach the team and competing again in the Saudi Pro League, during the opening of his remarks at the press conference held before the anticipated match against Al-Nassr in the first round of the Pro League.
Shamuska said: "There is no better match than facing Al-Nassr to start the league; it is a big and important match, and we have motivated our players to show their best form and achieve a distinguished performance and a positive result. The difference in budgets between the clubs of the fund and other clubs represents a challenge for us, and so far, the budget allocated to us has not been determined. I believe the situation is similar for most clubs in the Pro League."
Regarding the team's results in friendly matches, Shamuska said: "We do not set the result as a primary goal in friendly matches as much as we focus on reaching full readiness to compete in the Pro League."
Shamuska also addressed the future of player Saad Al-Nasser and the team's ambitions, stating: "I am happy with the level the player has reached; he is of high value, but he is currently in the negotiation phase and is outside my technical considerations. Al-Taawoun is capable of competing, and the nature of competitions depends on exploiting opportunities and handling certain matches well. I believe we will compete more for the King's Cup, noting that we are seeking to sign several local players, in addition to a foreign player and players born in the country." Shamuska concluded his press conference by saying: "We will face Al-Nassr, which has a strong attacking quartet, and it is important for us to work on stopping them, and we are ready for this match."
