أصدر الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم «يويفا»، اليوم (الخميس)، قرار تاريخياً بتعيين الحكم الصومالي عمر عبد القادر أرتان حكماً لمباراة كأس السوبر الأوروبي بين باريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي وأستون فيلا الإنجليزي، بعد حرمانه من دخول الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لإدارة مباريات في كأس العالم 2026.
بيان «يويفا»
وقال «يويفا» في بيان عبر موقعه الرسمي: «بعد مناقشات مع الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم، عيّن «يويفا» اليوم الحكم الصومالي عمر أرتان لإدارة مباراة كأس السوبر الأوروبي 2026، والتي ستقام في 12 أغسطس في سالزبورغ، بين باريس سان جيرمان، الفائز بدوري أبطال أوروبا، وأستون فيلا، الفائز بالدوري الأوروبي».
إشادة بمسيرته التحكيمية
وأضاف البيان: «على الرغم من صغر سنه، رسّخ أرتان مكانته كواحد من أفضل حكام العالم، وهو مدرج في قائمة الفيفا الدولية منذ عام 2018، ومن أبرز المباريات التي أدارها مباراة الإياب من نهائي دوري أبطال أفريقيا 2025-2026، وتقديراً لأدائه المتميز نال جائزة أفضل حكم أفريقي لعام 2025».
حرمان من مونديال 2026
وكان من المقرر أن يدير أرتان، الحاصل على لقب أفضل حكم في فئة الرجال لعام 2025 من الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم «كاف»، مباريات في كأس العالم 2026، إلا أن إدارة الجمارك وحماية الحدود الأمريكية منعته من الدخول مطلع الأسبوع الحالي.
استقبال حافل في الصومال
وحظي الحكم أرتان باستقبال رسمي وشعبي حافل عقب عودته إلى بلاده، أمس (الأربعاء)، بعد منعه من دخول الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
وقال أرتان في تصريحات صحفية: «ما حدث قد حدث وكان قدراً وأنا ممتن للدعم الذي قدمه لي الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم».
وأضاف: «الصومال بلدنا، سواء كانت الأوضاع جيدة أم سيئة، أريد أن أقول لشبابنا ألا يفقدوا الأمل في بلدهم، أنا الآن في بلدي، ولا أريد أن أكون في أي مكان آخر».
The European Football Association "UEFA" issued a historic decision today (Thursday) to appoint Somali referee Omar Abdul Qadir Artan as the referee for the UEFA Super Cup match between French club Paris Saint-Germain and English club Aston Villa, after he was denied entry to the United States to officiate matches in the 2026 World Cup.
UEFA Statement
UEFA stated in a statement on its official website: "After discussions with the African Football Confederation, UEFA has appointed Somali referee Omar Artan to officiate the UEFA Super Cup 2026 match, which will take place on August 12 in Salzburg, between Paris Saint-Germain, the winner of the UEFA Champions League, and Aston Villa, the winner of the UEFA Europa League."
Commendation of His Refereeing Career
The statement added: "Despite his young age, Artan has established himself as one of the best referees in the world, and he has been on FIFA's international list since 2018. Among the notable matches he officiated was the second leg of the 2025-2026 CAF Champions League final, and in recognition of his outstanding performance, he received the award for Best African Referee of 2025."
Denial from the 2026 World Cup
Artan, who was awarded the title of Best Male Referee of 2025 by the Confederation of African Football "CAF," was scheduled to officiate matches in the 2026 World Cup, but he was prevented from entering the United States by Customs and Border Protection at the beginning of this week.
Warm Reception in Somalia
Referee Artan received an official and popular warm welcome upon his return to his country yesterday (Wednesday) after being denied entry to the United States.
Artan said in press statements: "What happened has happened, and it was fate, and I am grateful for the support provided to me by FIFA."
He added: "Somalia is our country, whether the conditions are good or bad. I want to tell our youth not to lose hope in their country. I am now in my country, and I do not want to be anywhere else."
