جاءت ثنائية المنتخب المصري من ركلتي جزاء، بتوقيع محمد صلاح وعمر مرموش، في الدقيقتين 41 و45+2.
بهذه النتيجة، رفع المنتخب المصري رصيده إلى 19 نقطة في صدارة المجموعة الأولى بالتصفيات، متفوقًا بفارق خمس نقاط عن أقرب منافسيه، بوركينا فاسو، بينما تجمّد رصيد إثيوبيا عند 6 نقاط في المركز الخامس.
ويحتاج منتخب مصر إلى الفوز على بوركينا فاسو، في المباراة المقررة الثلاثاء القادم، لحسم التأهل رسمياً إلى مونديال 2026 قبل جولتين من نهاية التصفيات.
ويتأهل متصدر كل مجموعة مباشرة إلى كأس العالم 2026، الذي سيُقام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك، بينما يتجه أفضل أربعة منتخبات تحتل المركز الثاني إلى الملحق الأفريقي، من أجل الحصول على فرصة في الملحق الدولي.

With this result, the Egyptian team raised its points total to 19, leading Group A of the qualifiers, five points ahead of its closest competitor, Burkina Faso, while Ethiopia's points remained at 6 in fifth place.
The Egyptian team needs to win against Burkina Faso in the match scheduled for next Tuesday to officially secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup two rounds before the end of the qualifiers.
