أقدم إيرلينغ هالاند، مهاجم مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي، على تغيير الاسم الموجود على قميصه مع منتخب النرويج، في خطوة تقليدية شائعة في بلاده، بحسب ما ذكرته صحيفة «ديلي ميل» البريطانية.
وأوضحت الصحيفة أن هالاند، البالغ من العمر 25 عاماً، سيستخدم اسم «براوت» على قميصه رقم 9، ليظهر باسم «براوت هالاند» بدلاً من الاكتفاء بـ«هالاند» فقط.
ويحمل اسم «براوت» دلالة عائلية، إذ يعود لوالدته، غري ماريتا براوت، التي كانت بطلة نرويجية بارزة في رياضة السباعي خلال تسعينات القرن الماضي. وقد شاركت حينها في سباقات 100 متر حواجز، القفز العالي، دفع الجلة، 200 متر، القفز الطويل، رمي الرمح، و800 متر، ضمن تخصصها الرياضي.
أما والده، ألفي هالاند، فقد لعب بدوره في صفوف مانشستر سيتي لمدة ثلاث سنوات بين 2000 و2003.
Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, has changed the name on his jersey with the Norwegian national team, in a traditional move common in his country, according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail."
The newspaper explained that Haaland, who is 25 years old, will use the name "Braut" on his number 9 jersey, appearing as "Braut Haaland" instead of just "Haaland."
The name "Braut" has a familial significance, as it comes from his mother, Gry Marita Braut, who was a prominent Norwegian champion in the heptathlon during the 1990s. She participated in events such as the 100 meters hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 meters, long jump, javelin throw, and 800 meters, within her athletic specialization.
As for his father, Alfie Haaland, he also played for Manchester City for three years between 2000 and 2003.
