أثار تهديد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الثلاثاء) بالرد على إسقاط إيران مروحية أباتشي أمريكية فوق «هرمز» مخاوف من عرقلة المفاوضات، في ظل الأنباء عن تقدم كبير في عدد من النقاط الخلافية.
ونقلت صحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» عن مسؤولين أمريكيين قولهم: إنه من غير الواضح ما إذا كانت المفاوضات النووية ستُستأنف من حيث توقفت، بعد تعهد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بالرد على إسقاط المروحية الأمريكية.
وقال مسؤولون ودبلوماسيون أمريكيون للصحيفة إن المفاوضات بين واشنطن وطهران أحرزت تقدماً في نقاط شائكة تتعلق بالبرنامج النووي الإيراني، موضحين أن المباحثات «تجاوزت بكثير» مجرد مناقشة إعادة فتح مضيق هرمز.
وأضاف المسؤولون أن المفاوضين الأمريكيين بحثوا مع طهران أربعة عناصر رئيسية ضمن اتفاق نووي محتمل، من شأنه وقف البرنامج النووي الإيراني لنحو 15 عاماً، مشيرين إلى أن أبرز بنود الاتفاق المرتقب تتمثل في تعليق تخصيب اليورانيوم لفترة طويلة، وخفض تركيز المخزون عالي التخصيب.
وكانت شبكة «سي إن إن» الأمريكية قد نقلت عن مصدر مطلع قوله إن مسيّرة إيرانية من طراز «شاهد» هي التي اصطدمت بالمروحية الأمريكية التي أُعلن عن سقوطها، فيما قال مسؤول ومصدر أمريكي لموقع «أكسيوس» إن التحقيق خلص إلى أن مسيّرة إيرانية اصطدمت بالمروحية الأمريكية وتسببت في تحطمها، موضحين أن التحقيق لم يحسم بعد ما إذا كان اصطدام المسيّرة الإيرانية بالمروحية الأمريكية متعمداً أم لا.
وأشار المسؤول إلى عملية بحث استمرت ساعات للعثور على طاقم المروحية.
بدوره، قال المتحدث باسم القيادة المركزية الأمريكية إن طاقم المروحية التي سقطت قرب ساحل عُمان أنقذه قارب مسيّر أمريكي، لافتاً إلى أن الأسطول الخامس بدأ نشر قوارب مسيّرة في منطقة العمليات خلال مارس.
في المقابل، هدد رئيس البرلمان وكبير المفاوضين الإيرانيين محمد باقر قاليباف بالعودة إلى الحرب إذا أخل الأمريكيون بالدبلوماسية، موضحاً أن بلاده تفضل لغة الدبلوماسية.

The "New York Times" reported that U.S. officials stated it is unclear whether the nuclear negotiations will resume from where they left off, following President Donald Trump's pledge to respond to the downing of the American helicopter.
U.S. officials and diplomats told the newspaper that negotiations between Washington and Tehran have made progress on thorny issues related to the Iranian nuclear program, clarifying that the discussions have "gone far beyond" merely discussing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The officials added that American negotiators discussed four key elements with Tehran as part of a potential nuclear agreement, which would halt the Iranian nuclear program for about 15 years, noting that the most prominent provisions of the anticipated agreement include a long-term suspension of uranium enrichment and a reduction in the concentration of highly enriched stockpiles.
American network "CNN" reported that a knowledgeable source said that an Iranian drone of the "Shahed" model was the one that collided with the American helicopter that was announced to have crashed, while an American official and source told "Axios" that the investigation concluded that an Iranian drone collided with the American helicopter, causing it to crash, clarifying that the investigation has not yet determined whether the collision was intentional or not.
The official pointed to a search operation that lasted for hours to find the helicopter's crew.
For his part, the spokesperson for the U.S. Central Command stated that the crew of the helicopter that crashed near the coast of Oman was rescued by an American unmanned boat, noting that the Fifth Fleet began deploying unmanned boats in the operational area during March.
In contrast, the Speaker of Parliament and chief Iranian negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf threatened to return to war if the Americans disrupt diplomacy, clarifying that his country prefers the language of diplomacy.
