بعد مقتل ثلاثة جنود من قوات حفظ السلام وإصابة اثنين آخرين، طلبت فرنسا عقد اجتماع طارئ لمجلس الأمن الدولي لمناقشة الحادثة التي تعرضت لها قوات الأمم المتحدة في لبنان (يونيفيل).
وأعلن وزير الخارجية الفرنسي جان نويل بارو، عبر منصة «إكس» طلب بلاده عقد اجتماع طارئ لمجلس الأمن الدولي، إثر الحوادث الخطيرة التي تعرض لها جنود حفظ السلام في قوة «يونيفيل» بجنوب لبنان، مضيفاً: «باريس تدين بأكبر قدر من الحزم النيران التي أسفرت (الأحد) و(الإثنين) عن مقتل 3 عناصر في قوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان».
وأشار بارو إلى أن «فرنسا تدين أيضا ًالحوادث الخطيرة التي تعرضت لها (الأحد) الكتيبة الفرنسية في يونيفيل في منطقة الناقورة»، مبيناً أن «هذه الانتهاكات الأمنية وأعمال الترهيب من جانب جنود الجيش الإسرائيلي بحق موظفين أمميين غير مقبولة وغير مبررة، لا سيما أن قواعد فض الاشتباك كانت قد احتُرمت».
ولفت إلى أنه تم إبلاغ هذا الموقف بأكبر قدر من الحزم إلى سفير إسرائيل في باريس، داعياً جميع الأطراف إلى احترام سلامة أفراد الأمم المتحدة.
وكان جندي إندونيسي من قوة حفظ السلام قد قُتل (الأحد) جراء انفجار مقذوف مجهول المصدر قرب بلدة عدشيت القصير الحدودية، فيما قُتل قبل ساعات جنديان آخران وأصيب اثنان آخران في انفجار مجهول المصدر قرب بني حيان، وهي بلدة حدودية أخرى.
وتتمركز القوة الأممية التي تضم نحو 8200 جندي من 47 دولة، في جنوب لبنان التي تدور فيها حرب بين إسرائيل و«حزب الله»، في امتداد للحرب الأكبر التي بدأت عندما شنت إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة هجمات على إيران.
وتنتشر القوة بين نهر الليطاني والحدود اللبنانية-الإسرائيلية، فيما يقع مقرها الرئيسي في رأس الناقورة قرب الحدود مع إسرائيل.
After the killing of three peacekeeping soldiers and the injury of two others, France requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the incident involving United Nations forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced via the "X" platform the request for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, following the serious incidents that affected peacekeeping soldiers in the UNIFIL force in southern Lebanon, adding: "Paris strongly condemns the gunfire that resulted (on Sunday) and (Monday) in the deaths of 3 personnel in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon."
Barrot pointed out that "France also condemns the serious incidents that occurred (on Sunday) involving the French battalion in UNIFIL in the Naqoura area," indicating that "these security violations and acts of intimidation by Israeli army soldiers against UN personnel are unacceptable and unjustified, especially since the rules of engagement had been respected."
He noted that this position was communicated with the utmost firmness to the Israeli ambassador in Paris, calling on all parties to respect the safety of United Nations personnel.
An Indonesian peacekeeping soldier was killed (on Sunday) due to an explosion of an unknown projectile near the border town of Adchit al-Qusayr, while two other soldiers were killed hours earlier and two others were injured in an explosion of unknown origin near Bani Hayyan, another border town.
The UN force, which comprises about 8,200 soldiers from 47 countries, is stationed in southern Lebanon, where a war is ongoing between Israel and Hezbollah, as part of the larger war that began when Israel and the United States launched attacks on Iran.
The force is deployed between the Litani River and the Lebanese-Israeli border, with its headquarters located in Ras al-Naqoura near the border with Israel.
