أقر المجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي الإيراني بمقتل رئيسه علي لاريجاني، ونجله مرتضى، ورئيس فريقه الأمني وحيد فاطمي نجاد، ومعاون المجلس علي رضا بيات، وعدداً من مرافقيهم في غارات أمريكية وإسرائيلية.
ونقلت وكالة تسنيم الإيرانية عن المجلس أن رئيسه قتل ونجله في ما وصفه بـ«عدوان أمريكي إسرائيلي»، موضحة أنه قتل في منزل إبنته بمنطقة برديس بطهران، يأتي ذلك فيما تحدثت أنباء عن مقتل نائبه علي باطني.
وكان الجيش الإسرائيلي قد أعلن اغتيال لاريجاني في ضربة على العاصمة الإيرانية طهران ليل (الاثنين/الثلاثاء)، مستعرضاً كواليس عملية اغتياله.
وجاء إعلان المجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي الإيراني مقتل لاريجاني بعد ساعات من إقرار الحرس الثوري بمقتل قائد قوات الباسيج غلام رضا سليماني في هجوم أمريكي ـ إسرائيلي، في التوقيت نفسه الذي قُتل فيه لاريجاني، متوعداً بالانتقام لسليماني وآخرين ممن وصفهم بـ«قاتليه».
يذكر أن القناة الإخبارية الـ12 نقلت عن مصادر إسرائيلية قولها: «كان من المخطط أن تكون التصفية في ليلة الأحد، لكنها تأجلت في اللحظة الأخيرة»، مضيفة: «بعد ظهر الإثنين تلقينا معلومات بأن لاريجاني كان من المفترض أن يصل إلى إحدى شققه السرية الليلة (ليلة الإثنين/الثلاثاء)».
وأشارت إلى أن الشقة التي قتل فيها ليست منزله بل كان يستخدمها مع ابنه الذي قتل معه، موضحة أنه في وقت قصير تعرض قائد الباسيج لهجوم أيضاً، وقُتل في ضربة على مجمع خيام في مدينة شيراز مع قيادته العليا، كما قُتل نائبه، وذلك أثناء اجتماع مع قادة الجهاز في مقر مؤقت وليس المقر الرسمي للباسيج.
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council acknowledged the killing of its head, Ali Larijani, his son, Morteza, the head of his security team, Vahid Fatemi Najad, and several of their companions in American and Israeli airstrikes.
The Iranian Tasnim news agency reported that its head was killed along with his son in what it described as "an American-Israeli aggression," while there were reports of the killing of his deputy, Ali Bateni.
The Israeli army had announced the assassination of Larijani in a strike on the Iranian capital, Tehran, late on (Monday/Tuesday), detailing the behind-the-scenes of his assassination.
The announcement by the Iranian Supreme National Security Council regarding Larijani's death came just hours after the Revolutionary Guard confirmed the killing of the Basij Forces commander, Gholam Reza Soleimani, in an American-Israeli attack, at the same time that Larijani was killed, vowing to avenge Soleimani and others whom it referred to as "his killers."
It is noteworthy that Channel 12 reported, citing Israeli sources, that "the assassination was planned for Sunday night, but it was postponed at the last moment," adding: "On Monday afternoon, we received information that Larijani was supposed to arrive at one of his secret apartments that night (Monday/Tuesday)."
It pointed out that the apartment where he was killed was not his home but was used by him along with his son, who was killed with him, clarifying that shortly after, the Basij commander was also attacked and killed in a strike on a tent complex in Shiraz along with his senior leadership, and his deputy was also killed during a meeting with the agency's leaders at a temporary location, not the official Basij headquarters.
