اتهم الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي اليوم (الإثنين) روسيا بتجنيد مقاتلين أجانب لقتال قواته في شمال شرق البلاد، كاشفاً عن وجود مقاتلين من شرق آسيا وأفريقيا.
وقال زيلينسكي في منشور على منصة «إكس»: «بعد زيارة منطقة على خط المواجهة في خاركيف بشمال شرق البلاد، تحدثنا مع القادة عن وضع الجبهة الأمامية والدفاع عن فوفتشانسك وديناميكيات المعارك»، مضيفاً: «أبلغوني بوجود مرتزقة في هذا القطاع من شرق آسيا ودول أفريقية يشاركون في الحرب».
ورغم أن روسيا لم تعلق على تلك التصريحات إلا أن زيلينسكي توعد بالرد على تلك المعلومات مع أن الوجود الأجنبي للقتال لا يقتصر على روسيا، بل إن قيادات عسكرية أوكرانية أقرت بوجود مرتزقة يقاتلون إلى جانبهم ضد روسيا.
وقال الضابط بالقوات البرية الأوكرانية منسق شؤون خدمة الأجانب في الجيش كونستانتين ميليفسكي لصحيفة «أوبشيستفينويه» الأوكرانية: «يخدم في القوات المسلحة الأوكرانية أفراد من 72 دولة، 40% منهم من مواطني دول أمريكا الجنوبية».
وأوضح ميليفسكي: «ينضم نحو 600 أجنبي شهرياً إلى القوات المسلحة الأوكرانية بفضل إطلاق مركز توظيف الأجانب، الذي لا يوفر التدريب فحسب، بل والدعم اللوجستي لمن يقاتلون إلى جانب أوكرانيا»، موضحاً أن الدولة تعهدت بتغطية نفقات وصول المقاتلين إلى أوكرانيا.
ولفت إلى أن «هناك أكثر من 8000 أجنبي يخدمون في القوات البرية، لكن هذا الرقم قد يصل إلى الضعف إذا أخذنا جميع فروع القوات المسلحة في الاعتبار»، مبيناً أن «البيانات المتعلقة ببلدان المقاتلين الأصلية غير مُعلنة لأسباب أمنية، ولكن من المعروف أن المواطنين الكولومبيين نشطون بشكل خاص، حتى إنهم يشكلون وحدات منفصلة».
وأشار إلى أن «الأجانب الذين يقررون الانضمام إلى صفوف القوات الأوكرانية يُعتبرون عسكريين من لحظة توقيع العقد، ويحصلون على نفس الأجور والمدفوعات الإضافية التي يحصل عليها العسكريون الأوكرانيون، والدعم الاجتماعي والقانوني والمادي، كل شيء متطابق تماماً».

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia today (Monday) of recruiting foreign fighters to combat his forces in the northeast of the country, revealing the presence of fighters from East Asia and Africa.
Zelensky stated in a post on the platform "X": "After visiting an area on the front line in Kharkiv in the northeast of the country, we spoke with the commanders about the situation at the front and the defense of Vovchansk and the dynamics of the battles," adding: "They informed me of the presence of mercenaries in this sector from East Asia and African countries participating in the war."
Although Russia has not commented on these statements, Zelensky vowed to respond to this information, noting that the foreign presence in combat is not limited to Russia, as Ukrainian military leaders have acknowledged the presence of mercenaries fighting alongside them against Russia.
Ukrainian Ground Forces officer and coordinator for foreign service in the army Konstantin Melivsky told the Ukrainian newspaper "Obshchestvennoye": "Individuals from 72 countries serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 40% of whom are citizens of South American countries."
Melivsky explained: "About 600 foreigners join the Ukrainian Armed Forces every month thanks to the launch of the Foreign Recruitment Center, which not only provides training but also logistical support for those fighting alongside Ukraine," noting that the state has committed to covering the expenses of bringing fighters to Ukraine.
He pointed out that "there are more than 8,000 foreigners serving in the ground forces, but this number could double if we consider all branches of the armed forces," indicating that "the data regarding the original countries of the fighters is not disclosed for security reasons, but it is known that Colombian citizens are particularly active, even forming separate units."
He noted that "foreigners who decide to join the ranks of the Ukrainian forces are considered military personnel from the moment they sign the contract, receiving the same salaries and additional payments as Ukrainian military personnel, along with social, legal, and material support; everything is exactly the same."
