أعرب رئيس البرلمان العربي محمد بن أحمد اليماحي عن ترحيبه البالغ بقرار الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون الاعتراف الرسمي بدولة فلسطين، مبينًا أن هذه الخطوة الشجاعة والتاريخية تُجسد انحيازًا لقيم العدالة والحرية والكرامة الإنسانية، ودعمًا لحقوق الشعب الفلسطيني المشروعة في إقامة دولته المستقلة ذات السيادة.
وأوضح اليماحي في بيان له اليوم أن هذا القرار يأتي في توقيت بالغ الأهمية، في ظل ما يتعرض له الشعب الفلسطيني من حرب إبادة وحصار وتجويع ومحاولات مستمرة لفرض سياسة الأمر الواقع وتصفية القضية الفلسطينية، وهو ما يجعل المواقف الدولية العادلة أكثر تأثيرًا وجدوى.
ودعا رئيس البرلمان العربي الدول المحبة للسلام إلى السير على خطى فرنسا، وتحمّل مسؤولياتهم الأخلاقية والقانونية والإنسانية تجاه معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني، والعمل الجاد لإنهاء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وتمكين الشعب الفلسطيني من ممارسة حقه المشروع في تقرير مصيره، نصرةً للحق الفلسطيني، ودعمًا للسلام العادل والشامل في المنطقة.
وجدّد اليماحي دعم البرلمان العربي الكامل للحقوق الوطنية المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني ومواصلة جهوده في البرلمانات الإقليمية والدولية لحشد الدعم الإقليمي والدولي لنصرة ودعم القضية الفلسطينية وحشد الاعتراف الدولي بالدولة الفلسطينية.
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, expressed his deep welcome to the decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to officially recognize the State of Palestine, stating that this courageous and historic step embodies a commitment to the values of justice, freedom, and human dignity, and supports the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent sovereign state.
Al-Yamahi clarified in a statement today that this decision comes at a critically important time, amid the genocide, siege, and starvation faced by the Palestinian people, as well as ongoing attempts to impose a fait accompli and liquidate the Palestinian cause, which makes just international positions more impactful and effective.
The President of the Arab Parliament called on peace-loving countries to follow in France's footsteps, to bear their moral, legal, and humanitarian responsibilities towards the suffering of the Palestinian people, and to work diligently to end the Israeli occupation and enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination, in support of Palestinian rights and in support of a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
Al-Yamahi reiterated the Arab Parliament's full support for the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people and its continued efforts in regional and international parliaments to rally regional and international support for the Palestinian cause and to garner international recognition of the State of Palestine.
