وزير الخارجية اليمني يحذّر الحوثيين من الانخراط في أي حرب

The Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Sha'if Al-Zandani, warned the Houthis today (Sunday) about the repercussions of their involvement in any new escalation that could increase tensions in the region and harm the interests of the people and national security. He called on the international community to reject any attempt to expand the ongoing escalation in the region, which could exacerbate humanitarian crises and threaten international peace and security.

The Yemeni Foreign Minister emphasized during the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers that Yemen respects the sovereignty of UN member states and rejects interference in their internal affairs.

At the same time, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, reiterated today Yemen's clear position on the serious escalation in the region, in a manner that serves the cause of the Yemeni people and their aspirations to restore state institutions and overthrow the coup.

The warning from the Yemeni Foreign Minister came just hours after the Houthis announced in a statement their readiness to begin attacking American ships in the Red Sea, affirming their full support for Iran.

Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree said: "We cannot remain silent about any American attack supporting Israel against Iran," claiming that his group is monitoring all movements in the region and will take necessary measures.

Meanwhile, the head of the coup's political bureau, Mahdi Al-Mashat, claimed in the early hours of the American targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities that his group has every right to carry out attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
