The Iranian authorities arrested 5 individuals in the city of Yazd in the center of the country, on charges of taking photos of locations described as sensitive and cooperating with Israel.
The Yazd Public Prosecutor's Office announced today (Saturday) that these individuals raised public concern on social media.
The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" reported yesterday (Friday) that high-ranking Israeli security sources revealed that the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad) established a military base inside Iran prior to the recent attack. It reported that explosive drones were stored that had been smuggled into Iranian territory some time ago, and these aircraft were used in the attack on Iranian military and nuclear facilities.
According to the sources, the Mossad worked for years with the Israeli army to gather precise intelligence, in preparation for carrying out the extensive strike described as "devastating," confirming that the attack began with the activation of internal systems that had been pre-prepared within Iran.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Ben Gurion Airport, Lisa Diver, announced the closure of the main international airport in Israel, located near Tel Aviv, on Saturday, until further notice.
The spokesperson stated that there is no specific date or day set for the reopening of the airport.
On the other hand, Lebanese and Syrian authorities reopened their airspace to air traffic on Saturday after a temporary closure that necessitated the cancellation of flights and the rescheduling of others, amid the escalation between Israel and Iran.
Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport Faysal Al-Rassamni announced that, in coordination with the Civil Aviation Directorate, the Lebanese airspace was reopened starting at 10:00 AM (7:00 GMT) on Saturday.
He stated in a statement that the decision to close and the accompanying exceptional measures were imposed due to purely security necessities, adding that the safety of travelers and air facilities remains a top priority.
The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority announced the complete reopening of Syrian airspace to civil aviation after the circumstances that necessitated the closure had ended.
Syrian Airlines confirmed the gradual resumption of its flights today, noting that flight schedules remain subject to change or cancellation at any moment in the event of any escalation or new airspace closure.
It is worth noting that international airlines canceled flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, and other destinations in the region or changed flight paths on Friday, while airspaces were closed following the strikes carried out by Israel on Tehran at dawn.
